We are thrilled to share that WILLIAM TELL directed by Nick Hamm will have its world premiere as part of the Gala Presentations at the Toronto International Film Festival! 💫 Supported by IDM and partly filmed in the Obervinschgau region of South Tyrol, the film, which is adapted from Friedrich Schiller's play, is being produced by Free Turn Films, and Tempo Productions in association with Beta Cinema, WME Independent, Primefocus Studios, Grøenlandia and Cineroma. 🌟Focus on the talents 🌟 3 questions with the Italian-German duo TÒ SU Martina Mahlknecht and Martin Prinoth, who combine documentary film and theatre in their work. 🎤 What were your first steps in the film industry? Martina: "Creating the set designs for fellow students." Martin: "Loading and changing 16mm film rolls in a changing bag." 🎤 What was your last project? "Our current project is the VR documentary play BELOW DECK, which will celebrate its premiere at this year's 81st Venice Biennale." 🎤 When was the last time you cried at the movies? 🐆 #Locarno77 is slowly coming to an end and we look back on a sunny and inspiring week full of interesting meetings and screenings on the Piazza Grande. At Locarno Pro the IDM-supported ITACA, was awarded the Ticino Film Commission Residence Award at Alliance4Development. Congratulations! This year's delegation consisted of two producers and one director who had the opportunity to attend Locarno Pro; we asked them to share their experiences with us: ✨ Matthias Keitsch: "It was a great chance to connect with new people and reinforce existing relationships. Seeing 8,000 people celebrate cinema on the Piazza Grande was truly inspiring! Grateful to have been part of this year's Locarno Pro." ✨ Nela Märki: "For me, Locarno Pro was a perfect blend of "coming home" and exploring new territory.
