Japan is set to begin building the world's first "zeta-class" supercomputer! This machine is projected to be 1,000 times faster than today’s top supercomputers. Operating at zetaFLOPS speeds—one sextillion operations per second, it will surpass the current record-holder, the US Frontier. Developed by RIKEN and Fujitsu, the project faces the challenge of optimizing energy consumption. Japan’s Ministry of Education has already committed JPY 4.2 billion for the first year of development. Construction is planned to start in 2025, and aiming for completion by 2030. Once finished, it may become the most powerful supercomputer on Earth! #Innovation #AI #Supercomputing #Japan Original article: https://lnkd.in/gwV3sgww
