This week, the "United Nations Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum, Asia-Pacific" was held in Bangkok, Thailand, co-hosted by eight United Nations agencies. The forum serves as an international platform for constructive cross-sector dialogue, involving businesses, governments, national human rights institutions, and civil society actors, with the goal of strengthening responsible business practices in the Asia-Pacific region. This year, the theme was "The Remedy Blueprint - Bridging Gaps and Accelerating Access - ". Discussions focused on assessing the progress and challenges related to promoting access to remedy in the Asia-Pacific region, and on exploring solutions to ensure effective access to both remedy and justice. Staff members from GCNJ attended the event in person, and Deputy Exective Director Ujiie participated as one of the speakers in the session titled "Effective Access to Remedy in Practice: Lessons Learned from Operating a Grievance Mechanism," held at 14:30 local time today. KEIICHI UJIIE commented on the importance of companies continuously building their practices through grievance systems and directly engaging in meaningful dialogue with rights holders. #businesshumanright #RBHRforum

Today, at #ForwardFasterNow, Asia & Oceania, we brought together #sustainability experts, business leaders and governments to examine existing gaps and highlight scalable solutions that resonate with the region’s unique context. From the High Level CEO opening panel where we heard leadership approaches to prioritizing sustainability to taking stock of the progress of the #SDGs, it was a day of connection, collaboration and learning. Key takeaways: ➡️ The Asia and Oceania region is vital to achieving our Global Goals. With over 60% of the world’s population, the region represents more than two-thirds of projected global growth. ➡️ While the regional potential is enormous, global crises continue to pose challenges worldwide. ➡️ We need business and governments to implement plans side-by-side locally, nationally and globally to move #ForwardFaster. Together, we can build a better future for all. #ForwardFasterNow
