Several of our senior management members also joined in the event to show their support! This was second year that our group of companies in Singapore joined in the event as corporate supporter. Kumho Mitsui Chemicals Inc., one of our affiliates in South Korea, has commenced operations late September at additional production facilities for methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI). MDI is a key raw material for polyurethane, a signature material used in numerous fields such as auto parts, bedding and furniture, insulation for homes and fridges, elastic fibers, and various adhesives. Demand for MDI is projected to grow at an annual rate of 6% globally to improve residential insulation as a means of global warming suppression, as well as due to the heightened demand accompanying economic growth. Our brand new Creation Palette YAE™ has opened its doors at our Tokyo Midtown Yaesu head office to serve as a place where everyone can meet, interact, and create new ideas together. Outlined in a February 2024 press release, the space is intended to bolster our ability to offer solutions through co-creation with customers. Creation Palette™ is a co-creation organization devised by Mitsui Chemicals that will collaborate with the company’s R&D sites to flesh out topics for co-creation efforts with external partners. Creation Palette YAE™ is intended to be the gateway for such endeavors. Partners visiting Creation Palette YAE™ will gain a deeper understanding of the value that Mitsui Chemicals Group provides to society through demonstrations and explanaton of the group’s products and technologies, along with exhibits focused on its history and activities.   In addition, Creation Palette YAE™ aims to help our employees learn more about their company and bolstering organizational capabilities based on shared understanding. More than 50 participants from Japan HQ and Asia Pacific affiliates joined in the recent 2024 Asia Pacific Responsible Care Meeting. The hybrid session was held from 24 to 25 September 2024 in Malaysia. This meeting aims to enhance Responsible Care (RC) performances by getting participants to share best practices, discuss incident case studies, and highlight safety & environmental activities. Our MOLp® (MOL Materials Lab), a cross-organizational volunteer activity, will be running the famed "MOLpCafé 2024" from 29 October to 3 November 2024, at Lightbox Studio Aoyama (Minato-ku, Tokyo). The event theme this year will be MATSURIAL (Festival x Material), and visitors can experience the appeal of materials Now in our 10th year since the start of MOLp activities, we have seen an increase in the number of collaborators from both within the company and external parties. The collaborations give birth to innovative products being created over the years. The MOLpCafé 2024 will be the third solo exhibition. Note that the exhibition is in Japanese.
