Recently, I was invited to speak at one of Japan's leading business schools, 株式会社グロービス, to a group of business people who aspire to become leading executives. The theme was “How to build a strong management team that will achieve sustainable corporate growth.”   Haruki Satomi, CEO of SEGA SAMMY, and I spoke specifically about what a strong management team should be and how to foster change, drawing on our respective experiences.   NEC Corporation promotes digital transformation (DX) through AI, security and other technologies. SEGA SAMMY is an entertainment company that offers games and gaming equipment. Although our companies have different businesses and origins, we have much in common in our awareness of change, the challenges we have faced in promoting change, and the solutions we have developed. Continuous change is the key to growth and transformation in the management of any company.   I will be happy if this proves useful to those who will be responsible for management in the next generation.   #NEC_Global #SEGASammy #GLOBIS グロービス経営大学院 SEGA

  • Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan (the Expo) will open its gates in just one month, on 13 April 2025!💫 At the Expo, NEC will be providing advanced face recognition technology to ensure the smooth admission of visitors and enable hands-free payment at stores. With 1.2 million ticket holders expected to register, this will be NEC’s largest rollout of a face recognition service in Japan. In the latest edition of NEC Stories, we share the sentiments of two members who contributed to this major project.👉https://lnkd.in/ePPZ-fcf One of the employees leading the project told us, “It truly felt like fate to be given the opportunity to provide NEC’s face recognition technology, which has evolved so much over the past 55 years, for the Expo in Osaka.” At the Japan World Exposition, Osaka, 1970, NEC’s exhibit featured a technology that used photographs taken of visitors to analyze their facial features and match them to similar historical figures. This method was actually the inspiration for face recognition technology as we know it today.   This is a great chance to experience firsthand the future society made possible with NEC’s face recognition technology. Visitors who purchase either a Season Pass or a Summer Pass are eligible for face registration.   #NEC #NECglobal #NEC_Stories #facerecognition #technology

NEC Corporation - Corporate Executive Vice President, CTO (Chief Technology Officer), Executive Officer, President of Global Innovation Business Unit

I'm delighted to share that I recently took the stage at MWC Barcelona to speak on the theme, "Agentic AI as an "Economic Actor" -Revolutionizing Future Networks." I introduced NEC's vision for the evolution of Agentic AI in future network ecosystems. The high interest from the audience was truly encouraging, reinforcing the significance of this field. Furthermore, many people found our proposed concept of the human role in the AI era interesting: operating AI with the principle of "Sampo-yoshi" - good business that benefits the seller, buyer, and also society.  "Sampo-yoshi" is a concept that comes from Japan 400-years-ago. This philosophy is widely adopted as a business policy in Japan and at NEC. The exchange of ideas with fellow speakers and participants was very stimulating, allowing me to gain new perspectives on the latest industry trends and challenges. I'm grateful for such a valuable opportunity. The content of my presentation will be available on YouTube next week. If you're interested, please be sure to check it out. I'll make another announcement when it is published. #MWC2025 #NEC #NECglobal

NEC has developed and commercialized a 5G virtualized base station (#vRAN ) that will be implemented through software and drive innovation. 💫   Virtualizing base stations that were traditionally built with dedicated hardware reduces power consumption and makes it easier to develop and introduce new technologies through Open RAN. With vRAN, NEC will continue to accelerate innovation.   Running on general-purpose hardware, vRAN serves as a foundational system for pursuing advancements in all network technologies and preparing for the further enhancement of 5G services. This software integrates seamlessly with multi-vendor equipment and cloud environments, providing telecom carriers with optimal network configurations tailored to their needs.   Going forward, NEC will provide this software to carriers in Japan and internationally, with the aim of deploying more than 50,000 vRAN base stations by fiscal 2026.   👉https://lnkd.in/gvCDrq9n   #NEC #NECglobal #MWC #MWC25

The handover ceremony included deliberations between Executive Vice President Séjourné and His Excellency Kazutoshi Aikawa, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the EU, focusing on critical issues like economic security, industrial competitiveness, and the significance of Japan-EU collaboration via Horizon Europe, the EU's key funding program for research and innovation.   The recommendations are intended to guide both Japanese and EU governments in formulating future economic policies, and will soon be submitted to the Japanese government as well. “We look forward to further strengthening cooperation between Japan and the EU,” said Murooka.   #NEC #NECglobal

NEC begins verifying implementation of O-RAN security solution to strengthen safety and security of communications infrastructure. 🗝️   Open #vRAN, which runs networks virtually on general-purpose hardware, features high flexibility, such as the ability to configure networks according to the needs of telecommunications carriers. NEC and CTOne Inc., a subsidiary of Trend Micro, have launched an initiative to further enhance the security of Open #vRAN. The two companies have begun testing the implementation of SecureRAN, an O-RAN security solution. Through these verification tests, we aim to strengthen measures against threats from cyberattacks and ensure the safe and secure construction and operation of networks.   Read the press release here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gwazMCiP Open vRAN 👉 https://lnkd.in/gn8rWwKR #NEC #NECglobal #CTOne #TrendMicro #MWC #MWC25
