Happy New Week! It's a great start to the week to focus on making our environment cleaner and safer for ourselves and future generations to come. Small actions like picking up litter, conserving water, and reducing waste can make a big difference! Let's all do our part to create a better future for ourselves and generations to come

The Green Generation Initiative recently paid a courtesy visit to Ewaso Ngiro South River Basin Development Authority(ENSDA)headquarters in Nyandarua County and we are grateful for this new collaboration that will also see our work scale across more counties where ENSDA also has a presence. ENSDA has been vital in supplying seedlings to our various tree growing sites within the county. We look forward to continue joining efforts to have vibrant greenery along the Ewaso Ngiro river basin.

The Green Generation Initiative led by our Founder Elizabeth Wathuti , O.G.W recently had a fruitful meeting with Nyandarua County’s Department of Water, Environment, Climate Change & Natural Resources. At the Green Generation Initiative, we are proud of being part of making significant contributions to Nyandarua's tree coverage target by growing 40,000 tree seedlings across schools in line with 15Billion Trees national target. The meeting also paved way for more collaborations in achieving environmental sustainability within the county. We look forward to strengthening our impact footprint and collaboration with the Nyandarua County Government and we are greatful for this new partnership and milestone towards making more impact. Going Green now for the Future We want.

🌳✨ What an incredible week in Nyandarua County! We wrapped up our tree planting journey at Gatondo Secondary School and Mubao Primary School, where we achieved our goal of planting 7,000 trees across 10 schools. These vibrant green spaces enhance learning environments, improve air quality, and create healthier microclimates for our students. Join us in this important mission! Let’s work together to transform our schools into thriving ecosystems—one seedling at a time. Together, we can make a lasting impact for future generations. We are part of the ecosystem, when we kill it, we kill ourselves #GenerationRestoration #Trees #PlantingForTheFuture #NyandaruaCounty #GreenSchools #ActNow

Offloading tree seedlings for the day🌳🌳 Today our team is in Nyandarua County growing trees across different schools. Our target for this week is to do 7,000 trees in 10 additional schools in Kipipiri Sub-County in Nyandarua County. We aim to create vibrant green spaces in our schools. Let us all challenge ourselves to make schools healthier for children. One seedling at a time!

It's never a dull day with the Green Generation Initiative🌳🥳 We recently planted 400 tree seedlings in Muruaki Boys Highschool. This was part of our Nyandarua County series where we planted 4800 tree seedlings across various schools. We look forward to nurturing the trees and most importantly, impacting the younger generation to be pioneers of change in our environment! No impact is too small!

Every learner deserves exposure to nature🌳🌳 Schools are at the heartbeat of creating such spaces for children as they grow up. This is a call to each and every school to create a culture of tree growing among their learners One tree at a time! No impact is too small! Tag a school that has impressive greenery🥳

We had the distinct honor of welcoming one of Africa’s top climate champions, Elizabeth Wathuti , O.G.W, to our Nairobi office. Liz, who has been supporting our Nairobi Water Fund as a Youth Climate Champion for the past three years, is also currently actively participating in our Africa Source Water Protection Partnership (SWaPP). Liz continues to inspire us with her unwavering commitment to climate action and conservation, as can be seen through her initiative, Green Generation Initiative. During her visit, Liz engaged with our team, discussing matters of conservation to advance our shared goals of protecting Africa’s vital natural resources and driving sustainable change across the continent. At The Nature Conservancy, we believe that youth leadership is crucial for conservation and in the fight against climate change. Together with champions like Liz, we are building resilient communities and a sustainable future for Africa. 📸© Frank Odhiambo

You know that feeling you have after visiting an unforgettable place? That's the feeling we had as Green Generation Initiative (GGI Kenya) after planting trees in Mbogani Primary School. The school has inculcated a strong culture of tree growing in its learners and the result is overwhelmingly amazing🥳 We pose this as a challenge to every school faculty! A green school is a happy school! No impact is too small!
