🌱 Following a successful #GlobalAgDay2024, we were thrilled to host speakers and regional hub managers on a series of inspiring site visits across University of California, Davis, each showcasing innovative agricultural research in action. 📍 Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture Demo Center – spotlighting low-cost, adaptable postharvest technologies for global use, with tour guides Associate Director Archie Jarman, Program Officer Lydia Maranga, and Project Manager Kristen Becker. 🍫🌳 Mars Cacao Greenhouse – breeding efforts that tackle climate resilience for cacao production, with tour guides Director of Cocoa Genetics and Breeding Dr. David Mackill, and Senior Scientist Dr. Ashley DuVal. 🌾 Seed Biotechnology Center at UC Davis' Orphan Crops Project – advancing new seed technologies, with a special focus on African Indigenous Vegetables, with tour guides Director Seed Biotechnology Center Associate Director Plant Breeding Center Dr. Allen Van Deynze and Assistant Professor and Plant Scientist Dr. Christine Diepenbrock. 💧🐟 #UCDavis West Campus' Aquaculture Cooperative Extension, Vegetable Crops Facility for Hydroponics/Aquaponics – exploring forestry and agricultural byproducts in hydroponic plant production, with tour guides Dr. Jackson Gross and Aquaponic Program Manager Nathan Kaufman. 🍻 Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science August A.
