In our latest newsletter from the Policy team, we preview WCRF’s participation at the World Cancer Congress (17-19 Sept), where we’ll launch our policy position on alcohol and cancer risk. Further, in honour of World Breastfeeding Week, we take a closer look at marketing of breastmilk substitutes and baby foods, and how big companies shape what babies eat from their first days of life. Great to see our Policy and Public Affairs Manager Kendra Chow interviewed for this TIME Magazine article on the nuances of ultra-processed foods 👇
Policy & Public Affairs Manager, WCRF International | MSc Public Health, LSHTM | Registered Dietitian
It is a pleasure to have been interviewed for TIME Magazine's article on ultra-processed foods by Jamie Ducharme. While many questions remain around UPFs, we know enough about foods that are high in fat, sugar and salt that require strengthened policy action now. We also know enough about the importance of making healthy foods more accessible and available to stimulate more policy action there too. The article is online now, and will be included in their next print issue: https://lnkd.in/gniHAJzd
