About us
Konexio Africa is an NGO that develops digital skills training programs for marginalised people, particularly women in refugee camps, to enable them to access online freelance work, such as annotation or micro-work, and more generally to increase their revenues. Over the past few years, Konexio has had remarkable success in Kenya (Kakuma) and Malawi (Dzaleka), generating an average income of USD 200 per month - allowing participants to secure accommodation, food and send their children to school. Thanks to our solid network of partners (Appen, Upwork, Google, L'Oréal, PRW...), we have trained 450 people and helped around 3000 indirect beneficiaries since our launch in East Africa in 2019.

🌍 Thrilled to have joined to Meet the CEO initiative hosted by the French Chamber of Commerce Kenya. It was inspiring to connect with members and hear from Mehmet Karamollaoglu, Managing Director of L'Oréal, about L'Oréal's corporate and impact-driven strategy, L'Oréal for the Future; which will not only drive corporate success but also demonstrates a commitment to creating social impact, particularly through its third pillar: addressing urgent social and environmental challenges globally. Through our partnership in their Women Empowerment Program, we’re empowering refugee women with digital skills, opening pathways for underserved communities to access new economic opportunities. This collaboration shows the powerful impact that happens when corporate vision aligns with purpose-driven action. Looking forward to our journey ahead and the positive change we can create together! 🌱 #SocialImpact #LorealForTheFuture #WomenEmpowerment #SustainableChange #RefugeeEmpowerment #FrenchChamberKenya

🌟Meet Anan Daud Kandar- From Trainee to Trailblazer🌟 When Konexio's Digital Inclusion Program (DIP) launched, Anan Daud was filled with excitement at the thought of learning new skills and finding a job. Originally from South Sudan and now residing in Kakuma Refugee Camp with her sister and mother, she saw the training as a golden opportunity to support her family. Over six months, Anan mastered skills like data entry, graphic design, and data scraping. Her hard work paid off as she quickly secured digital freelance work on platforms like Appen, Upwork, and Freelancer. 🙌 Today, Anan volunteers as an administrative assistant at the Generation Aid Center, helping enroll new students and manage data. As she nears the end of her internship, she’s hopeful for a full-time role. 🌱 Anan’s journey from student to valued team member is a powerful reminder that with the right skills and determination, it's possible to create a brighter future. 💪 #DigitalInclusion #Empowerment #RefugeeResilience #SkillsForSuccess #KonexioImpact #WomenInTech
