About us

CARE Cambodia is an international development organisation fighting global poverty with a special focus on working with women & girls to bring sustainable changes to their communities. CARE has been working with Cambodians since 1973, providing relief and development assistance within Cambodia and subsequently to Cambodian refugees on the Thai border. Since 1991, the re-opened office in Phnom Penh has worked in many areas including emergency relief, preparedness, health, education, livelihoods and gender-based violence. Today, CARE focuses on empowering particularly marginalised and vulnerable women in Cambodia. CARE works with women who have migrated to urban areas, women and girls from ethnic minorities and rural women who are denied multiple rights.

    🎯 Last week, CARE Cambodia and participants from Vietnam, Myanmar, Pakistan and Bangladesh worked together in the "Regional Learning Forum on Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in the GFT Sector." ✍ With 45 national and international participants, in collaboration with GIZ Cambodia (FABRIC Cambodia), TAFTAC, Organization for Persons with Disability (OPDs) and relevant stakeholders, the forum brought together discussions, activities and cooperation on the Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in the GFT Sector. The regional learning forum was designed as a reflection, co-learning process, and discussion of challenges for people with disabilities from diverse backgrounds and solutions seeking.
