This album doesn't break any new ground musically, but it's a great, raw experience of modern garage rock. A top 10 for me for sure.

Willoughby's Beach marks Gizzard's debut as their first realised 'project' (aside from the Anglesea EP which is included on Teenage Gizzard). Much like its successors, there's a good deal of punchy surf rock with hints of punk, which would later come through more prominently on 12 Bar Bruise. Given that it's an EP, I always feel this one gets overlooked by some; myself included from time to time. So, remembering it exists is always a fun moment of sudden realisation: "Oh wait, there's more!"
Favorite track: Lunch Meat.
