We salute Deidre Henderson who is our Pacific Victor of the Week! Henderson works in Eighth Army's Office of Internal Review and Audit Compliance as a lead auditor. She was presented a certificate of achievement by Col. Paul Staeheli, Eighth Army chief of staff, at the headquarters building on Camp Humphreys, South Korea, Nov. 12. She's recognized for her outstanding efforts in numerous audits and reviews conducted this year. Internal Review and Audit Compliance is a special staff office that provides a full range of professional internal review and audit services to the command. IRAC’s mission is to support leadership and Eighth Army major subordinate commands in improving accountability and compliance in the execution of their missions and preparation for financial audits. This week we salute Chaplain (Maj.) Ryan Mills (right), he is our Pacific Victor of the Week! Chaplain Mills serves as the plans and operations officer for the Eighth Army Chaplain Directorate, which oversees spiritual support and chaplain ops throughout the peninsula. Mills was presented his certificate of achievement by Col. Paul Staeheli, Eighth Army chief of staff. Let's give a round of applause to Cpl. Si Eon Choi, he is our Pacific Victor of the Week! 👏 👏 He received his certificate of achievement from Col. Paul Staeheli, Eighth Army chief of staff, today at Camp Humphreys, South Korea. Choi works in our Eighth Army Surgeon Directorate and is a KATUSA soldier providing exceptional technical and administrative support to the team. Today we recognized four outstanding NCOs at the headquarters building on Camp Humphreys. 1st Sgt. Thomas Rowe, 3d Cavalry Regiment, and Staff Sgt. Tonga Tukumoeautu Jr., Eighth Army Band, were inducted into the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club. Lowe and Tukumoeatu's exceptional leadership qualities, unwavering commitment to duty, and outstanding service to our nation have earned them a spot into the top 2% of all US Army NCOs. They were presented their SAMC awards by Command Sgt. Maj. Robin Bolmer, Eighth Army senior enlisted advisor. They achieved this through a rigorous evaluation process where they reflected the highest standards of professionalism and excellence within our armed forces. Sgt. Kwang Il Kim, Eighth Army Band, and Cpl. Woo Hyung Lee, U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan-Casey, were awarded the Gen. Paik Sun Yup Leadership Award for their demonstration of professionalism, selfless service and care for subordinates. Kim and Lee are KATUSA Soldiers - Korean Augmentation to The U.S. Army - who serve side-by-side with Eighth Army Soldiers everyday. Gen. Paik was a Republic of Korea Army legend and Korean War veteran who also served as an honorary Eighth Army commander. We are proud of these top notch NCOs and congratulate them on their recognition. Lt. Gen. Christopher LaNeve, Eighth Army commanding general, visited the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Maryland, Oct. 16. The general was in the area for the Association of the US Army annual conference in Washington D.C. and made time to visit DINFOS and speak with future public affairs and visual information service members. LaNeve discussed the Eighth Army mission in Korea and the roles the students will play as public affairs and visual information professionals. The Defense Information School (DINFOS) is a component of the DOD’s Defense Media Activity. The school trains U.S. military, DOD civilian, international military, and interagency students in a variety of subject areas including public affairs, print journalism, photography, video production, broadcast journalism, broadcast equipment maintenance, and various forms of graphic design and digital media. ICYMI: Lt. Gen. Christopher LaNeve, Eighth Army commanding general, is in Washington D.C. where he joined other US Army leaders at the Association of the U.S. Army 2024 Annual Meeting and Exposition this week. On day one he served as a panel member at the AUSA 2024 Contemporary Military Forum (CMF 2): “Position Advantage: Landpower in the Indo-Pacific,” at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Oct. 14. He was on the panel with Gen. Charles Flynn, U.S. Army Pacific commanding general, and U.S. Congressman Rob Wittman, vice chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.
