Today, we celebrate Korean Alphabet Day (a.k.a Hangul Day) ! Developed in the 15th century by King Sejong the Great and his scholars, Hangul was created to address the challenges faced by ordinary Koreans in learning to read and write using Classical Chinese characters. At that time, most of the population was uneducated, struggling with a complex writing system. King Sejong aimed to empower all Koreans with a simple, easy-to-learn script, enabling them to express themselves and access vital knowledge. With 14 consonants and 10 vowels, Hangul's systematic structure allows for easy combination into syllables and words, showcasing its linguistic brilliance. The excellence of Hangul lies in its scientific design; each character is crafted to represent the phonetic sounds of the Korean language, mirroring the physical movements of speech. This makes Hangul not only easy to learn but also a highly effective tool for communication. We are excited to announce the introduction of 65 mobility technologies that we expect to commercialize within the next two to three years. This achievement is the result of our record R&D investment of approximately 1.7 trillion KRW, which has been focused on electrification and electronics. We remain committed to our R&D strategy to enhance our competitiveness in the rapidly evolving global automotive industry. We held our ‘2024 R&D Tech Day’ at the Uiwang R&D Center, inviting valued customers, key partners, respected academia, and major domestic media for the first time to showcase our advancements. The event, themed ‘Collective Inspiration,’ highlighted seven themes and featured 14 world-first innovations in electrification, electronics, and safety. We believe these achievements stem from our proactive projects aligned with mobility trends and our significant investments in talent and R&D culture. Since 2020, we have established a dedicated cybersecurity organization and have been advancing our Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS). Through these dedications, we are now the first Asian supplier to obtain cybersecurity certification in Europe. This certification confirms compliance with stringent European regulations, encompassing all aspects of product design, evaluation, quality control, production, and post-production management, which are essential for securing orders from European customers. With this certification, our aim is to enhance competitiveness in securing global orders and continuously meet global regulations and standards for user safety. #Cybersecurity #TheOneforAllMobility #MOBIS

We’re ramping up our efforts to develop new materials for the future of mobility, gearing up to meet the global environmental regulations expected by 2030. Our focus areas include sustainable materials, innovative mobility materials, and digital materials. To fulfill these environmental targets, we’re using recycled materials in our plastic components and working on bio-based materials. Recently, we created a vehicle underbody protective cover made with 50% recycled plastic, well above the EU’s upcoming requirement of 25% recycled content by 2030. We’re also reducing our reliance on rare metals in our products. For instance, we’ve developed a new inductor material that cuts nickel content from 50% down to 30%, helping us manage price fluctuations while keeping performance high. Plus, we’re exploring a completely "nickel-free" material as part of our innovation drive. On top of that, we’re investing in digital materials technology by blending IT with traditional material fields. With over 100 materials science R&D professionals on our team, we’re harnessing artificial intelligence to discover new materials and boost our capabilities in developing automotive components.
