A robust #semiconductor supply chain is vital to building a strong U.S. and global economy. Every part of the supply chain plays a role in advancing the overall technology to enable new applications, like #AI. SK Group was pleased to see Absolics Inc., an SKC subsidiary, recognized last week for the role its #Georgia facility could play in building this U.S. semiconductor industry. The U.S. Department of Commerce and Absolics announced the signing of a non-binding preliminary memorandum of terms to provide up to $75 million in direct funding for Absolics’ Georgia facility under the CHIPS and Science Act. The Absolics site in Covington, Ga., is working to manufacture a breakthrough glass substrate – a thin piece of material on which processors, memory and logic chips can be embedded. The new material could enable more chips to be packaged together in less space, creating the brains of next-generation, high-performance computers. The project is another example of SK Group investments in critical U.S. industries – from electric vehicles and semiconductors to life-changing medicines. #SK_Leaveo, the #eco_friendly_material production arm of #SKC has embarked in full swing on the construction of the world’s biggest #PBAT (Polybutylene Adipate Terephthalate) production plant. #SK_Leaveo held the #PBAT plant #groundbreaking_ceremony in the special economic zone of #Hai_Phong City, #Vietnam. The #PBAT_production_plant in #Vietnam in which #SK_Leaveo is investing about 100 million dollars in the first phase will cover 22,389㎡ with an annual production capacity of 70,000 tons which will break the world’s record for a single plant.

#SK_TBM_Geostone, an investee company of #SKC specializing in #biodegradable materials, announced that it had launched a service called #GreenFill_Box in collaboration with #E_MART24, a prominent South Korean convenience store company, and a marketing specialist #Plan_Devenir. The #GreenFill_Box, installed at E-MART24’s R Yongsan TriSquare branch in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, is a service that allows customers to easily purchase laundry or dishwashing detergent in a refillable container made of SK TBM Geostone’s biodegradable #LIMEX. #SKC announced that the Company won integrated A+, one notch up from last year, in the 2023 ESG Ratings’ published by the #Korea_Institute_of_Corporate_Governance_and_Sustainability (#KCGS). The #KCGS #ESG ratings evaluation covered 1049 listed companies this year and only 19 out of them, including SKC, were honored with A+ this year, accounting for the top 1.8%.
