🌟 Exciting Update! 🌟 Recently, TAIHAN FIBEROPTICS achieved a significant milestone in the development of radiation-resistant fiber. The radiation-resistant fiber being developed by TAIHAN FIBEROPTICS was recently subjected to a radiation-resistant test at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute. As a preliminary safety measure, new power plants are equipped with multiple sensing systems for monitoring any abnormal events on their nuclear vessels, and radiation-resistant fibers can play a critical role in monitoring the locations and conditions. In the radiation resistance test, the RIA change value was 4.23 dB/km (wavelength at 1,550 nm) at a radiation dose of 100 kGy, showing excellent characteristics not only better than the top tier (7.7 dB/km) but also at the world's highest level. Our optical fiber has a structure with Fluorine doping to a pure silica core using our company's VAD/OVD method and has shown to be superior to the PCVD method in terms of radiation resistance. Moreover, to reduce the transmission loss of radiation-resistant fiber, process optimization is currently in progress.
