“I am building a train, and I want to keep it with me, because I want to go with the train and not in the plane anymore,” said Fadi, a 5-year-old boy who, after fleeing his home due to bombings, developed a fear of planes. According to Simona Azar, RMF case worker, Fadi’s fear comes from the traumatic experiences he endured before escaping his hometown in southern Lebanon. Despite the hardships of displacement, 10-year-old Hussein's imagination knows no limits. As he carefully builds a colorful skyscraper with LEGO during an RMF-led activity, he dreams of returning to his home in Baalbeck. "I want to add a plane," he says, "so when bad things happen, I can fly away to safety."
