As part of our assessment for the Operations and Logistics module, we had the valuable opportunity to visit Emjay , a leading garment manufacturer in Sri Lanka. During the visit, we focused on industry best practices, sustainability practices, current trends, emerging technologies and supply chain and logistics that are shaping the textile and apparel industry. During the interview we had with Assistant General Manager at Emjay Penguin pallethalawinna factory, we gained valuable insights into their Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices, as well as their commitment to sustainability through initiatives like solar energy usage and water conservation. It was impressive to see how they leverage emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. A special thanks to Emjay Penguin pallethalawinna factory and their Assistant General Manager - Mr. Gihan Wijesinghe for generously sharing insights on how the company integrates eco-friendly practices and cutting-edge technology to maintain a competitive edge.
