Last week, the GovTech Lab team, together with eight different public sector organizations from Lithuania, had the opportunity to visit Denmark! 🚀 During the visit, we learned the importance of mutual trust and discovered that digitalization is not seen as an IT issue. Instead, the focus is on current and future challenges such as an aging population, workforce shortages or changes in its structure, and the need to optimize resources—challenges that digitalization helps to address. Denmark places a great emphasis on user experience in accessing public services and overall well-being in the workplace, striving for a healthy work-life balance. ⚖️ A huge thank you to all who contributed to making this visit a success: Embassy of Lithuania in Denmark, espeally to Asta Sakalauskaitė, Digital Hub Denmark, Danish Ministry of Digital Affairs,Danish Business Authority, Local Government Denmark, KOMBIT A/S, Center for Offentlig-Privat Innovation (CO-PI), and DTU Compute. 🙌 And of course, a big thanks to the representatives of the Lithuanian public sector, who actively engaged during the meetings, asked insightful questions, remained enthusiastic, and showcased their professionalism! 👏

🟪 With the solution development phase just around the corner, participants of the GovTech Challenge Series came together for hands-on workshops focused on user analysis and managing innovation projects. 🟪 During these sessions, they deepened their understanding of future users, mapped out user journeys, and explored the Agile methodology, discovering how it can be applied to short-term innovation projects.  ✨ The Idea Lab is a space dedicated to exploring the future through the 6 concepts, exploring how developments in AI technology will intersect with the changes of a public sector. These concepts were co-created as a part the program of GovTech sandbox by representatives of public sector institutions, academia.
 At the Idea Lab, wefoster critical dialogue about emerging technologies and their potential impact on the future. As we look ahead, the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and public sector advancements will likely shape governance, policymaking, and public services. Our goal is to understand how AI can influence these areas, and how this technology can be used to enhance efficiency, transparency, and inclusivity, while addressing the challenges that arise from this transformation. Through this space, we aim to broaden the spectrum of future possibilities and pose the critical question -"Just because we can, should we?". Join us on this journey as we imagine not only what is plausible, but what is possible for the future.
