What is Cultural Fit, and is it true that a cultural match is more important than being the best at writing code / *your option*? Today, companies assess what a candidate can do as well as who they are as a person. Cultural fit is about how well your values, approach to work, and communication align with what’s important to the company and its corporate culture. But can this aspect truly outweigh your professional skills? Find the answers this and other questions in our new blog post: https://lnkd.in/ddfbAX6W Women in Tech project is implemented by the Gender Research Center of EHU, with financial support from the European Union. #EUforBelarus #ЕСдляБеларусі #wintech #womenintechbelarus #womenintech

It’s a fact – the number of women in IT is decreasing. Several factors contribute to this trend. First, mass layoffs in the industry began in 2022, following the COVID-19 pandemic. These layoffs predominantly affected women, as they often hold more vulnerable positions in HR, recruiting, marketing, and administrative roles. Second, the IT field has generally been unfriendly toward women. Issues such as professional discrimination, limited access to education, gender stereotypes, the "glass ceiling," the "motherhood penalty," sexism, ageism, cultural factors, and imposter syndrome all play a role. What will 2025 bring? It’s uncertain, but we are committed to supporting you by sharing new knowledge, building a community, and helping you expand your network. Thank you for being with us! ❤️🩹 Women in Tech project is implemented by the Gender Research Center of EHU, with financial support from the European Union. #EUforBelarus #ЕСдляБеларусі #wintech #womenintechbelarus #womenintech
