Issuing bonds has become a common source of financing for real estate developers in the Baltics - and investing in bonds has become a trusted options also for private investors. A summary in today's Verslo žinios of Zabolis Partners' first real estate bond issue for RELEVEN's #SanguskuParkas. In short: with secured bank financing and a pledge to the underlying asset we attracted 192 investors to the 6 million Euro issue. With a smaller minimum investment level, we'd have attracted more, but would've left larger participants disappointed with less of their commitments fulfilled. Link to the article in the comments. Big thanks to Martynas Cimbalas and Domas Silenskis for their excellent overview of our process.

A deep dive into what our portfolio company Brolis Sensor Technology does, and how and why. Listen to Kristijonas Vizbaras speaking about innovation and returns: 'The majority of young businesses fail because the solutions they create fail to find monetization opportunities. Of course, it's easy to say, "Do what everyone needs." However, when starting with an idea, it is very important to be able to adapt dynamically.'   An interview (in Lithuanian) with Luminor‘s Vytis Žegužauskas and Ugnius Savickas

We send congratulations to the team of our portfolio company Brolis Semiconductors for being selected by the Krašto apsaugos ministerija | Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania to supply them with LP5X aiming lasers. The value of the contracts exceeds 18 million Euro and includes training, provision of spare parts and repair works. The selection and supply of these units have been facilitated by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) after identifying them as the most advanced laser sight on the market. NSPA is responsible for identifying and procuring the best value-for-money defence technology, making it available to the armed forces of all Alliance partners. LP5X aiming lasers devices have previously also been chosen by the Spanish Army and the Belgian Defence. Our Snowball technology investment platform is open for new investments into defence and photonics businesses.

The roots of the successful laser ecosystem in Lithuania go back almost 60 years. Driven by the innovative passion at Vilniaus universitetas / Vilnius University, the country is a hotbed of both R&D for and production of highly specialized photonic systems. Zabolis Partners’ latest acquisition, EKSMA Optics, is an integral player within the industry. Their laser-sharp focus on optical solutions used widely by local and international producers has earned them a reputation for reliability and quality. Their latest award by the HiLASE Centre, the scientific research centre, for winning their challenge to produce the best-performing laser mirror with highly reflective coating, highlights the outstanding ability of Eksma to respond to complex and demanding requirements. Last year, Eksma won this competition for the best laser window equipped with anti-reflective coating on both sides. We are pleased to be supporting this outstanding team in growing their markets and expanding their technologies. To keep up-to-date about Lithuania's cutting-edge laser industry, please follow the EKSMA Optics page.

Family offices is an increasingly common topic in Lithuania. Our Asset Management business Investor relations lead Domas Silenskis shared a some thoughts in a recent Verslo žinios article from his experience working with local FO's and HNWI in #Lithuania. A few points for the English speakers: • From 2019 the number of family offices worldwide has tripled and now manages approximately $6 trillion in assets. In this regard, Lithuania is also going through a period of growth. • Investment trends: Lithuanian family offices are diversifying investments, from local to international markets. It is popular to invest in real estate and private equity. • Structural management and succession planning are especially important when creating family offices. • Families often choose holding companies and family trusts for efficient asset management and tax benefits. • Lithuanian family offices increasingly participate in international platforms, thus increasing their investment opportunities and reach. Big thanks to Dovile Burgiene from WALLESS for the great legal perspective and insights on FO's 🤝 #FamilyOffice #WealthManagement #InvestmentStrategy #PrivateEquity #WealthPreservation

#FamilyOffic #WealthManagement #InvestmentStrategy #PrivateEquity #WealthPreservation

📢 Zabolis Partners continues its tradition of supporting education and fostering young talent. Recently, our own Martynas Cimbalas from RELEVEN, a part of our group, visited Riga to congratulate and reward the best-performing students of Rīgas Ekonomikas augstskola - Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. We are highly committed to education and nurturing future leaders. Many alumni from this great higher education institution have found a place within Zabolis Partners and our group companies during the years. Supporting education aligns very well with our philanthropic objectives. We also support young artists in Lithuania through the #ZabolisArtPrize and continue to push the success of the Vilniaus universiteto fondas. These initiatives reflect our core values and our dedication to empowering the next generation. A big thank you to the SSE Riga for their outstanding achievements and for raising such brilliant minds. Zabolis Partners' Managing Partner Alvydas Zabolis describes the Group's #realestate #investments as benefiting from an ideal alignment of circumstances in a Verslo žinios podcast. Having set out to beautify the place where we live - Vilnius - by creating beautiful buildings, the Group's real estate team RELEVEN find themselves with both capital to support their plans and demand for their product. While foreign investors in real estate have left the market, local investors are looking to real estate as an alternative to keeping deposits at banks. Developments in Vilnius are seen as attractive as the city - beyond short-term fluctuations - is on a stable growth trend. Vilnius has become an urban magnet, attracting back not only disaffected emigres from the UK but also young professionals from across Europe, and shortly - the families of NATO soldiers to be stationed here. The #Horizontai development in #VilniusCBD with its strong emphasis on providing new residential living space sees this investment decision validated with units in Vilnius' first 15-minute city already being reserved.

Zabolis Partners has completed the acquisition of laser company EKSMA Optics Zabolis Partners, the investment and investment fund management group, completed the acquisition of Eksma Optics, a manufacturer of #laser optical components, and appointed a new board. As reported by the company, the transaction was implemented through Francis EO, a company managed by Zabolis Partners, which acquired sole control of Eksma Optics. The parties do not disclose the value of the transaction. "With new investors, we will seek to implement the growth and technological development strategy. The transfer of production chains to Europe creates new opportunities", said Dainius Tumosa, head of Eksma Optics. VŽ wrote that in April the Competition Council allowed "Francis EO" to purchase 50.14% of the shares of "Eksma Optics" and take over its sole control. Algirdas Baltaduonis, Alvydas Zabolis, Justinas Domarkas, Dr. Michail Berba and Juozas Zabolis became members of the board of Eksma Optics. The chairman of the company's board will be elected next week. "By investing in the Vilnius photonics ecosystem, we expect sustainable long-term value. We want to help Lithuanian laser sector companies to grow not only organically, but also through acquisitions. We will look for opportunities for new products, combining photonics and software development knowledge", noted Algirdas Baltaduonis, Partner at Zabolis Partners. Alvydas Žabolis said in the VŽ podcast that this company marks their new investment strategy starting in 2026: "We are buying Eksma Optics because both the defense industry and large European and US photonics production companies want to change their supply chain." They need manufacturers in the Western world, and Eksma Optics is exactly that." Eksma Optics manufactures and sells laser optical components and supplies its products to more than 50 countries around the world. The company's plans include the development of the technological base and the growth of the supply of new products to the world's leading laser manufacturers.
