À propos
Aide à l'Enfance de l'Inde et du Népal (AEIN) is a non-profit association run by a small team of permanent staff and approximately 20 volunteers involved in several working groups (projects, awareness raising, communication / fundraising) or sitting on the Board of Directors. AEIN has been supporting development projects in India since 1967. In 1997, we extended our action to projects in Nepal. We are a recognized non-government organization operating under framework agreements with the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs, guaranteeing the co-financing of our development projects and of our awareness raising activities. Our goal is to empower the most vulnerable social groups in rural communities of India and Nepal so that they can assert their rights and become autonomous. All the initiatives supported by AEIN: - are developed and implemented on site by local organizations, with the participation of the beneficiaries every step of the way ; - are intended to help the most vulnerable members of society ; - benefit each targeted community as a whole ; - impact several aspects of people‘s lives, namely education and training, health, agriculture and ecology, and their rights. AEIN works very closely with its Indian and Nepalese partners to develop a detailed plan for every project we finance. In addition, AEIN collaborates with local facilitating agencies and development experts that recommend partners and monitor our projects, with the aim to achieve maximum impact. True solidarity between people cannot exist without the esteem of others and the willingness to learn from them. Through our activities in Luxembourg, we try to present the difference between our living conditions and the ones in India and in Nepal. Through concrete examples, we show the consequences of our way of living and of consuming on developing countries. Meanwhile, we look to convey a more balanced picture of Indian and Nepalese realities

Film Screening of Devi – A Story of Resilience and Justice Aide à l'Enfance de l'Inde et du Népal (AEIN) in partnership with Stand Speak Rise Up! invites you to a powerful and thought-provoking evening on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Kinepolis Kirchberg. In collaboration with Stand Speak Rise Up!, we are hosting a special screening of Devi, a documentary by filmmaker Subina Shrestha, which sheds light on the struggles of survivors of sexual violence during Nepal’s civil war. At the heart of this gripping documentary is Devi Khadka, a former rebel warrior, mother, and survivor. Determined to break the silence, she embarks on a courageous journey to demand justice for all survivors. Event Program Location: Kinepolis Kirchberg, Salle 5 Date: Friday, March 28, 2025 Schedule: 18:30 – Doors open 18:50 – Welcome remarks 19:00 – Screening of Devi (80 minutes, Nepali with English subtitles) Post-screening Q&A with Devi Khadka and Subina Shrestha (30 minutes) Networking & refreshments at Espace 16/9 🎟 Free entry – Registration is mandatory This screening is more than just a film – it is an opportunity to engage in an essential dialogue about justice, resilience, and human rights. Aide à l'Enfance de l'Inde et du Népal (AEIN) at CSW 69: Advancing Women’s Rights & Ending Violence Ms. Françoise Binsfeld, Executive Director of Aide à l'Enfance de l'Inde et du Népal (AEIN), had the privilege of speaking at a parallel event during the 69th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) on Advancing Women’s Rights: Ending Violence and Strengthening Leadership. Key Takeaways from AEIN’s Intervention: 🔹 Combating gender-based violence requires addressing deep-rooted stereotypes and power imbalances. Sustainable change comes through education, advocacy, and systemic reform. 🔹 🇱🇺 Ministry for Gender Equality and Diversity, Luxembourg is making progress through its Strategy to Combat Gender Stereotypes, which includes awareness campaigns, education initiatives, workplace family-friendly policies, and engaging men and boys in the fight for gender equality. 🔹 The upcoming #UN CEDAW General Recommendation No. 41 on Gender Stereotypes is in its drafting process, offering civil society organizations an opportunity to shape international guidelines on how states should tackle harmful gender stereotypes. 🔹 The reduction in funding for gender equality programs in the US and Europe is a concerning trend. Gender equality must remain a priority—we must make our voices heard and advocate for sustained investment in policies and programs that protect and empower women and girls. 🔹 At AEIN, we integrate these principles into our development cooperation efforts in Nepal 🇳🇵 and India 🇮🇳, ensuring that gender equality and youth empowerment remain at the heart of our programs. A sincere thank you to all speakers and participants, for their valuable contributions! AEIN looks forward to continuing these crucial discussions and actively engaging in the CEDAW GR 41 process to push for stronger international standards on gender stereotypes.
