🌱 This week, we attended the Sustainability Forum 2024 in Luxembourg, organized by IMS Luxembourg - Inspiring More Sustainability. The theme of this year's forum was particularly relevant: the impact of AI on our future. 🤖 From the opening session, we learned that Luxembourg’s GDP is projected to grow by 9% in the next 10 years thanks to AI. 🚀 Aurélie JEAN, Ph.D. highlighted the importance of using AI, or as she prefers, algorithmic models, to do more green 🌿 and less brown 🌍 by prioritizing purpose-driven development. We also had the chance to hear from 10 inspiring startups using AI for a better future: 👓 dotLumen - empowering: smart glasses for the visually impaired 🌐 @Datamaestro: optimizing resources 🌳 Space4Good: classifying biodiversity to take action on conservation 🌳 🔥 Data for Good / Pyronear: detecting early-stage wildfires 🏭 PEPITe, Enhancing the durability, sustainability, and resilience of the manufacturing sector 🤖 LuxAI : an AI-powered educational robot 🌾 IBISA NETWORK: using climate data to insure agricultural farms 🌍 UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency: innovating in conflict zones 🌆 NEXQT: improving city management through data 🧬 Helical: AI for advancing genomics and DNA research A key takeaway from Samuel Nowakowski: We should always keep humans at the center - ensuring we maintain control over knowledge and make informed decisions.
