Yesterday was an important milestone for Livista Energy Europe S.A. in le Havre (France). We are delighted to have been selected by HAROPA PORT as one of the three winners of the tender for green projects along Qair Group and Air Products. At Livista Energy Europe S.A., our mission statement is to design and to deliver a series of Lithium refineries to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy and circular economy solutions across Europe contributing to Europe energy independence. Every action we take and decision we make must be aligned with this ambition as we strive to achieve our vision, to be Europe’s largest sustainable refiner of lithium products that can accommodate all sources of raw Lithium material including from battery recycling and to become a major contributor to the circular economy of the lithium-ion battery supply chain and to a greener world. We are thankful for all of you which has made this possible. We are willing to build a state-of-the art lithium chemical refinery in Le Havre in France, capable of processing lithium from both primary and recycled materials. This development marks a significant step forward for the European electric vehicle supply chain and the energy transition. Production is forecast to begin in 2028, with an initial capacity of 40,000 tpa output and the double at full capacity, representing enough lithium chemicals to power batteries for 1.5 million electric vehicles annually. The plant is expected to generate up to 300 direct local jobs, 250 outsourced jobs, and over 1,200 indirect jobs. Livista Energy Progresses Strategy and Secures Prime Plot of Land in Le Havre for its Advanced Lithium Refinery Facility Le Havre, France – 7 November 2024 - Livista Energy, a leader in the European lithium chemicals industry, proudly announces that it has been selected for a prime 27-hectare plot of land in the port of Le Havre « West A29 ». This strategic location will host a state-of-the-art lithium chemical refinery, capable of processing lithium from both primary and recycled materials. This development marks a significant step forward for the European electric vehicle (EV) supply chain and the energy transition. ·      Le Havre’s exceptional renewable and nuclear energy infrastructure, combined with its highly skilled workforce, excellent transport links, port access, and proximity to key players in the European battery market, positions LIVISTA to achieve its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals. "The new permitting schedule is a step in the right direction," Livista Chairman Roland Getreide told S&P Global. "The 12-month permitting timeline for refining projects is exactly what we had in mind," he said, adding the new regulation provides "greater clarity" for Europe's emerging lithium industry. In June, Livista announced plans to construct a first lithium refinery at Emden Seaport in Lower Saxony, Germany. The refinery will initially produce 30,000 mt/year of lithium hydroxide and 10,000 mt/year of lithium carbonate with operations scheduled to begin in 2026.
