🌟 Empowering #WomenInScience: A New Mentoring Pilot Programme🌟 🚀One week ago, the Women [& Girls] in Science #mentoring programme was launched for the first time. This programme aims to facilitate links between #women researchers and female Masters students at the University of Luxembourg. This initiative encourages aspiring women to pursue a career in research by providing them with mentors and role models, thus helping to bridge the #gendergap in research fields, especially in #STEM. 🤝The programme is run in collaboration with the ADVANCE mentoring programme. Students will be matched with mentors from similar #research fields and will meet from March to June to discuss #researchcareers and work on individual goals. 💪Thank you to all the researchers and students who are taking part in this programme: Haya Al Sawaf, Michele Weber, Greyci G., Lorieza Neuberger-Castillo, Dr phil Anne-Marie Hanff, RN, Sallam Abualhaija, Anisa Meta, Dimitra Anastasiou, Maria Gabriela Retamales, Arta Sinamati, Denisa M. 💧🪨Have you ever heard of #materials that have the properties of both liquids and solids? 💠These are liquid crystals which exhibit unique optical characteristics. At the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine - University of Luxembourg, Prof. Jan Lagerwall is working on innovative research to make them suitable for various applications in domains such as #BuildingSafety and infrastructure integrity or medicine and #RoboticSurgery. 🔐In the field of #anticounterfeiting and #traceability, Prof. Lagerwall is one of the co-creators of the CaeSaR tag, a means of incorporating a unique, non-clonable and non-transferable #fingerprint directly on the surface of any solid physical product, thus creating this way a unique ID for any object. To develop this innovative solution, he has co-founded the #startup Trace Crystal which is now incubated at the University of Luxembourg Incubator and Entrepreneurship Programme. 🎙️Listen to the latest SciLux episode to learn more about Prof. Lagerwall research➡️ https://lnkd.in/e3Trup_M University of Luxembourg | SnT, Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust | Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) | Startup Luxembourg | Hakam AGHA | Mónica P.
