Sisvel Cellular IoT is designed to speed the uptake of NB-IoT and LTE-M technology, in part by providing greater visibility around patent royalty rates. As Sven Törringer, LL.M explains in this article, a single pool licence with a transparent royalty rate offers access to over 50% of the SEPs relevant to these two standards. This provides a strong benchmark for estimating the total royalty stack around these technologies, enabling both new entrants and established players in the sector to build sturdy business cases and scale up with confidence. What's more, a comparison with published bilateral rates and pool rates in adjacent technologies makes it clear that the Sisvel pool licence is priced to encourage adoption. This is business intelligence rooted in facts, not fear -- a must-read for anyone in the #CellularIoT space. https://lnkd.in/gFX2G-hs #WePowerInnovation #NBIOT #LTEM #LPWAN

Words matter. In recent attempts to import the distorted US patent debate to Europe, agenda-driven commentators have shifted the goalposts to mischaracterise Sisvel and others as equivalent to ‘patent #trolls’. Platforms that claim to understand the European patent landscape should not give these bad-faith assertions a free pass. https://lnkd.in/da76tiEi #WePowerInnovation

Many thanks to La Repubblica, Italy's leading newspaper, for featuring Sisvel in a recent supplement it published to coincide with Italian Tech Week in Turin. A link to the piece is provided below but for those who do not read Italian, this is how it starts: "You may not have heard of Sisvel, but you certainly know the companies it works with. These include Airbus, Orange, Huawei, Panasonic, Samsung, Siemens, Dolby, Toshiba and many others. Sisvel is the largest and oldest patent pool administrator in Europe, managing #licensing programmes that allow access to global technologies developed by leading R&D companies. These technologies, protected by #patents, are found in the products we use every day and will also be present in many others that we will own in the future. Since Sisvel started its operations in Turin in 1982, it has earned billions of euros in royalties for its partners ..." https://lnkd.in/dB6JvG35 #WePowerInnovation #PatentPoolsRock
