Last week, in collaboration with UN Convention to Combat Desertification, the GGW Accelerator & Agence Panafricaine de la Grande Muraille Verte, we held a 3-day training on the Great Green Wall Observatory in #Ouagadougou, #BurkinaFaso.
The training led by DGers Joshua Mbai and Julian Eduardo de Anquin was the culmination of a year of design and development of the GGW Observatory. The training brought together representatives of the 11 National Agencies for the GGW to learn and share experiences in the use of #ClimateAction data for evidence-based planning, oversight and community/resource mobilization.
The training also included speakers from CIFOR-ICRAF on the Knowledge for Great Green Wall Action (K4GGWA) , Observatoire du Sahara et du Sahel (OSS) Sahara and Sahel Observatory on the GGW Platform for non-state stakeholders, African Union Development Agency-NEPAD for the AFR100, FAO on the FERM Platform, WOCAT - World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies among others.
Going forward, DG looks forward to the integration of major GGW focused information systems to enable sharing of data, practices and knowledge resources. https://lnkd.in/eYUAsHaM
