Our Country Manager, Anders Falk, was recently featured on Ekonomibyrån, a podcast-style TV program in Sweden. During the discussion, Anders and other prominent guests explored the Swedish gambling market after the 2019 re-regulation. Since then, licensed operators have been required to follow a strict duty of care to help protect customers from gambling harm. However, the unlicensed market is growing, and channelisation levels in Sweden are decreasing. According to the treatment organisation Spelfriheten 8 out of 10 customers who contact them are blocked from licensed operators through the national exclusion system, Spelpaus. In the episode, Anders highlighted that, through our partnership with Swedish Elite Football, we educate players across all 32 clubs to raise awareness about problem gambling and match-fixing. Collaboration and increased awareness among all stakeholders have been identified as key factors in reducing gambling harm. Last week, Team Kindred laced up for the annual Convinistafetten relay race in Stockholm, which marks the start of autumn for many. 🏃♀️🏃♂️ From running and walking the relay to enjoying a post-race picnic in the green park area, it was a great afternoon of togetherness and fun. "So That No One Worries Alone" Gotcha4Life Foundation is known as Australia’s leading mental fitness charity, dedicated to inspiring and empowering all Australians to take action in building their mental resilience, so no one has to worry alone. This year marked the third time Kindred has proudly supported the Gotcha4Life Cup, and it was our most successful event yet. An incredible $232,000 was raised in total, a contribution that will have a profound impact on the community. The Cup was not only a night of thrilling rugby, but it also featured an exciting halftime Celebrity Touch Football game, where some of Australia’s finest athletes and entertainment personalities took the field. Among them were Unibet’s very own ambassadors. Our volunteers went above and beyond this year, with special recognition to Shilo Harvey who recently started in our Sportsbook Planning team; Shilo managed to raise $1,400 single-handedly! “With this success, we are now aiming to surpass the million-dollar mark in total funds raised as we enter our fourth year of support,” says Nathan Reeves, Kindred's General Manager in Australia.
