“You might not be my best friend, but you’re in my village and that means we care about each other” From the mouths of babes. The day after International Children’s Day, all of the adults at our NSW Parliament House Government briefing were inspired by the wisdom of a 10 year old child. We welcomed Ministers, Members and industry leaders from all corners of NSW to learn more about the impact our Mentally Fit Primary Schools Initiative is having in our schools. We were energised by NSW Minister for Mental Health, The Honourable Rose Jackson’s enthusiastic address and look forward to partnering with the NSW Government to expand and deepen the impact of our Primary Schools initiative in 2025. Special thanks to James Griffin MP for your support in hosting us at NSW Parliament House, and our inspiring speakers Gus Worland, G4L Founder, Dr Jodie Lowinger, G4L Advisory Board and Belinda Elworthy, G4L CEO. But it was the address from Principal Lucy Norrish from Nicholson St Public School that really bought the impact of our Mentally Fit Primary Schools initiative home. Lucy shared the significant changes she has witnessed in her school community since partnering with Gotcha4Life at the start of 2024. From enhanced understanding of mental fitness protective factors amongst staff and students, to a more connected community… and 10 year old children with new skills to help navigate friendship challenges with more love and kindness.
