Here are a few pressing issues in societal context: ·      Workplace Discrimination: A large-scale study in Europe reveals that one in three individuals’ experiences workplace discrimination based on gender, age, education, ethnicity, religion, or disability. ⚡️ ·      Human Rights Violations in the supply chain: There are still over one million forced labourers in the food industry, and The International Labour Organisation (ILO) estimates that more than 160 million children are engaged in child labour globally, with the majority working in agriculture. ⛓️ ·      Animal Welfare Concerns: With around 1.5 billion cattle, one billion pigs, and nearly 23 billion chickens raised for meat production worldwide. Intensive farming remains the dominant model, while organic and humane farming practices account for only 5%. 🐖 At Lidl, we acknowledge our responsibility and are committed to addressing these challenges. Our Leadership Team swapped boardrooms for the kitchen today, lending a hand at Dar Papa Frangisku in Birkirkara. 🧑🍳 Together with Caritas, we prepared a hearty meal for those in need. This hands-on experience was a powerful reminder of the importance of community and solidarity. ❤ By working alongside the dedicated staff at Dar Papa Frangisku, we gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by the homeless. To further support their work, we made a donation of Lidl products to aid the continuous preparation of daily meals. The Digital Price Tickets marked a significant step forward in shopping ease while freeing up our team’s time to focus on enhancing other areas of sale to continue improving the overall customer experience. This innovative technology: 👉 guarantees the display of always updated and correct prices to our customers as the price updates take place completely automatically, without any intervention by colleagues in the store. 👉 makes work more efficient as the time previously dedicated to the management of price tags is now being used to carry out other activities useful for further improving the customer shopping experience. 👉 reduces our impact on the environment because giving up printing has allowed us to save a lot of paper and therefore to be increasingly sustainable. #DigitalPriceTickets #Sustainability #Efficiency
