At the invitation of the Africa Peer Review Mechanism (an African Union organ), in partnership with the UNDP and the UN Economic Commission for Africa, Rony Lam (CEO) and Anish Goorah (Senior Vice President) from MCB Capital Markets participated in an expert meeting on the establishment of the African Credit Rating Agency (AfCRA) in Cairo from 8th to 10th October. The AfCRA is expected to play a crucial role in the development of the pan-African debt capital markets and in facilitating intra-African capital flows. Rony and Anish articulated the case, model, considerations and roadmap for the establishment and implementation of the AfCRA. The meeting was attended by representatives of African central banks, ministries of finance, regulators, multi-lateral institutions, credit rating agencies and other market participants. #MCBGroup
