This Thursday 29 August 2024, Mr. Premchand Mungar, Chief Executive of SBM Bank (Mauritius) Ltd, had the honour of delivering a speech at the event organised by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Mauritius, focusing on China-Africa cooperation, held at the Hennessy Park Hotel in Ebene.   In his address, Mr. Mungar emphasised the significance of deepening partnerships between China and Africa to drive economic growth and development. He highlighted SBM Bank’s commitment to facilitating this cooperation through innovative financial solutions and services tailored for businesses engaged in Sino-African trade.   As we continue to position Mauritius as a key financial hub for Sino-African relations, SBM Bank remains dedicated to fostering strong business connections that contribute to mutual prosperity.

The SBM Group has, today, reported its financial results for the six months ended 30 June 2024.   Reflecting on the financial performance, Mr. Sattar Hajee Abdoula, the Group Chairman, said: “The SBM Group demonstrates sustained performance for the semester – profit before tax increased from MUR 2.9 billion to MUR 3.0 billion for the six months ended 30 June 2024, whilst profit after tax shows a marginal decrease due to changes in taxes and levies. While facing up to key challenges, Group results reflect higher business volumes and sound financial metrics, as the organisation moves forward and implements various strategic initiatives.
