On March 14, we participated in International Week 2025 at CETYS Universidad, an event that brings together experts and students from around the world to exchange ideas on economics, business, and global development. We had the opportunity to share with attendees the impact of Ensenada EDC on the region’s economic development, highlighting investment opportunities, binational collaboration, and the growth of strategic sectors in Baja California. The event also included academic sessions, company visits, and networking activities, strengthening the connection between the international community and the local business ecosystem. This edition welcomed students from the U.S., France, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Vietnam, who enriched the discussions with their global perspectives. 🌎 We appreciate CETYS Universidad Ensenada Campus for the invitation and for generating these spaces that promote global talent. Last Friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of students from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California #Nanotechnology #Engineering program. During the session, we shared the activities of our organization, the economic sectors of Ensenada, and the economic overview of our municipality. It was a very productive meeting in which we exchanged information about the importance of nanotechnology and its connection with various industries in our city. We were delighted to host the students and highlight that talent is key to attracting investment and fostering economic development. On International Women's Day, we recognize the critical role that women play in the global economy. Despite persistent challenges, their contribution is essential to sustainable development and economic growth. According to the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Report 2024, the world has closed 68.5% of the gender gap overall. However, significant disparities still exist in specific sectors and levels of leadership. Several studies indicate that gender equality in the workplace has a positive impact on the economy. For example, in Latin America and the Caribbean, it is estimated that closing gender gaps could increase GDP by 4% to 15%. On this day, we would like to highlight and thank the women who are part of the Ensenada EDC team. Their dedication and effort have been key to promote Ensenada internationally, contributing significantly to the economic development of our city. Their leadership and commitment are an example to all. Sempra Infraestructura has established its Community Advisory Council in Baja California through the ECA LNG project, strengthening its commitment to sustainable development and collaboration across various sectors. This council brings together leaders from academia, civil society, the public sector, and business organizations to discuss key energy sector issues and enhance community engagement. Among the members of this council are Mario A. Peregrina and Margarita Ruíz, board members of Ensenada EDC, who will contribute their expertise in economic development and investment promotion in the region. The installation session was attended by representatives from institutions such as UABC, CETYS Universidad, Cruz Roja and COPARMEX.
