The Malaysian Biotechnology Information Centre (MABIC) is the first and only NGO that promotes biotechnology in Malaysia and enjoys excellent working relationship with ministries, government agencies, research institutes, universities, trade organizations, embassies and high commissions, media, industry and farmer organizations. MABIC’s mission is to provide scientifically accurate and fact-based resources to all stakeholders and support the government’s efforts in developing the biotechnology sector. Our activities and publications are catered for biotechnology stakeholders comprised of policy makers, scientists, academia, regulators, members of the media, technical experts, trade representatives, legislators, students, religious authorities, members of the industries, farmers, venture capitals and bankers, and the general public. As a well recognized information centre, MABIC strives to ensure that all its information and activities are scientifically sound.
Over the years, MABIC has remained as the single most active organization in creating public awareness and addressing key issues in biotechnology to Malaysian stakeholders. MABIC’s latest venture is The Petri Dish – a free biotech newspaper, circulated to ministries, universities, industry, research institutes, and government agencies.
MABIC is part of the Biotechnology Information Centers, an international network of 25 country nodes under the Global Knowledge Center of ISAAA.
