The state-of-the-art circuit, Sepang International Circuit was officially opened on March 9, 1999 by the Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. It was completed in a record of 14 months and with the recognition of its ultramodern facilities, it was given the honour to incorporate the F1 logo in its name. Situated 85km from Kuala Lumpur city centre, it is accessible via modern North-South Expressway, Railway Links and a network of Highways. Being closely situated to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport makes it an ideal place for world-class international events. With the length of 5.543 km, the track features 15 turns and 8 straights with access speed of more than 300km/h. the track allows ample opportunities for overtaking, ensuring a suspense and thrills of the race. Malaysia, however, is not only looking at Sepang International Circuit as only a physical facility for Motorsports. In this place called ‘Home of Motorsports’ lies the aspiration of making Malaysia as the hub for motor racing activities in the region and a catalyst to spark a new beginning of Malaysia’s motorsports. In all, the track can accommodate up to 130,000 spectators at a time. It can fill up the grand stand with 32,000 spectators at the Main Grand Stand and 18 corporate suites. New Grand Stand K and F, which can fill up another 18,500 spectators facing, turn 1 and 7 respectively. The 1.3 km length of double frontage grandstand affords a view of the circuit’s longest straight. The grandstand is constructed along the east-west alignment to ensure shade from the sun’s glare at all times. The heart of the circuit and focal point is the three-storey Pit Building, facing the main grand stand. All the main facilities are housed here 33 Pits, Race Control Room, Time – Keeping Room, Paddock Clubs and management offices. The administrative block for Sepang F1 Circuit is the Welcome Centre, which also serve as the gateway to the Main Grand Stand.

LAWATAN AKADEMIK AHLI PENGURUSAN TERTINGGI SEPANG INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT SDN. BHD. (SIC) KE IBU PEJABAT SURUHANJAYA PENCEGAHAN RASUAH MALAYSIA (SPRM) PUTRAJAYA, 9 Julai 2024 (Selasa) – Satu sesi lawatan akademik ahli pengurusan tertinggi Sepang International Circuit Sdn. Bhd. (SIC) ke Ibu Pejabat Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) telah dianjurkan oleh Unit Integriti dan Governans SIC dengan kerjasama Bahagian Pendidikan Masyarakat SPRM dan sesi ini diketuai oleh Encik Md Azhan Shafriman bin Md Hanif, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif SIC. Seramai 13 orang ahli pengurusan tertinggi dan 4 orang warga kerja SIC turut berpeluang mengikuti lawatan ini yang memberi fokus terhadap pemantapan integriti dalam kalangan peserta di samping memupuk kesedaran mengenai anti-rasuah serta menggalakkan amalan tadbir urus yang baik dalam organisasi. Para peserta turut berpeluang mengunjungi beberapa bahagian di ibu pejabat yang menjalankan fungsi-fungsi utama SPRM antaranya Bilik Rakaman Pernyataan Saksi, Bilik Kawad Cam dan Bilik Rakaman Percakapan Bervideo. Di samping itu, En. Md Azhan Shafriman turut dijemput sebagai tetamu bagi slot “Sembang Tamu” di MACC.fm iaitu radio rasmi SPRM yang memberikan tumpuan kepada pendidikan dan menyebarluas mesej pencegahan rasuah kepada seluruh rakyat Malaysia melalui platform hiburan dan pembudayaan integriti. Dalam slot tersebut, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif SIC itu turut berkongsi mengenai inisiatif-inisiatif anti-rasuah yang dilaksanakn di SIC antaranya menubuhkan Unit Integriti dan Governans atau IGU, membangunkan Pelan Anti-Rasuah Organisasi (OACP) dan mengimplementasikan Pengurusan Risiko Rasuah atau Corruption Risk Management (CRM). Bagi tahun 2024 pula, SIC melalui IGU sedang giat menambah baik polisi anti-rasuah seperti Polisi Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (ABAC), Polisi Hadiah Korporat (Corporate Gift Policy) dan Polisi Pelindung Pemberi Maklumat (Whistleblower Protection Policy). Dalam wawancara tersebut, beliau turut berkongsi berkenaan aktiviti-aktiviti tahunan yang dijalankan di SIC bagi tahun 2024 antaranya Malaysia Championship Series (Pusingan 3) pada 9 – 11 Ogos 2024; Malaysia Championship Series (Pusingan 4) pada 6 – 8 September 2024; PETRONAS Grand Prix of Malaysia 2024 pada 1 – 3 November 2024 dan Sepang 1000KM pada 22 – 24 November 2024. On Thursday 16 May 2024, PETRONAS SIC received a delegation from JPJ top management to discuss the potential strategic collaboration with JPJ on several areas such as vehicle testing at PETRONAS SIC, government sector driver safety training and awareness programs in schools together with MAM and JPJ. The JPJ delegation is led by Tuan Ibrahim Mohd Yusop, JPJ Deputy Director General (Management) and other esteemed heads of departments. The discussion is followed through with a tour of PETRONAS SIC facilities and a quick lunch at SIC Lakeside.
