🌟 𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐄𝐎𝐒 𝐁𝐄 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤! 🌟 𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐶𝑙𝑎𝑟𝑎 𝐿𝑖𝑚, 𝐶𝑜𝑟𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 𝑀𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑔𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑡 𝑆𝑎𝑏𝑎ℎ 𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝐶𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑒 𝑀𝐴𝐶𝐸𝑂𝑆: 𝐶𝑙𝑎𝑟𝑎, 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑢𝑠 𝑎 𝑏𝑖𝑡 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓? Clara: Sure! I was born in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. I have an Executive Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Universiti Teknologi Johor, sponsored by a hotel I worked for. Before joining the Business Events (BE) industry, I spent 16 years in hospitality and 5 years in advertising. 𝑀𝐴𝐶𝐸𝑂𝑆: 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑟𝑜𝑙𝑒 𝑎𝑡 𝑆𝑎𝑏𝑎ℎ 𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝐶𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑒? Clara: As the Corporate Communications Manager, I handle all corporate communications, shaping narratives to promote the venue and destination. I focus on branding, positioning, and event success. 𝑀𝐴𝐶𝐸𝑂𝑆: 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑚𝑎𝑑𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑗𝑜𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐵𝐸 𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑦? Clara: It happened by chance after the MCO. I got a call from SICC, went for an interview, and here I am. Although it’s only been 2.8 years, it feels much longer due to the intensity and learning experiences. 𝑀𝐴𝐶𝐸𝑂𝑆: 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑑𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐵𝐸 𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑦? Clara: It’s never boring and always something happening. The BE industry is about strategic planning and creativity, constantly evolving. It connects diverse ideas and cultures, sometimes creating “magic,” and always offering surprises and learning opportunities. 𝑀𝐴𝐶𝐸𝑂𝑆: 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑛 𝑢𝑛𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑔𝑒𝑡𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑖𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑒𝑟? Clara: Organizing BE in SABAH was unforgettable. From brainstorming to the closing ceremony, it was a whirlwind of emotions and challenges. The mix of anxiety and seeing everything come together was exhilarating and humbling. “Save the Date: BE in SABAH, 27 to 28 February 2025. See you there!” 𝑀𝐴𝐶𝐸𝑂𝑆: 𝑊ℎ𝑦 𝑑𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑘 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑟 𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑢𝑝 𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐵𝐸 𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑦? Clara: The BE industry is dynamic, offering a playground for innovation and shaping the future.
