Last Monday, we welcomed two fantastic new faces to our team at SUPA! 🎉 👨🏻💻 Evan, a Computer Science graduate from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), joined us remotely from Indonesia as our new Software Engineering Intern! 🇮🇩 🏎️ He's passionate about films, football, F1, and all things tech! Although he's not a fan of durian, he's always up for singing—virtual karaoke, anyone? 🎤🎶 Gele, our Data Science Intern, hails from Johor and is a recent Computer Science graduate in #AI from the University of Nottingham Malaysia. 🫧🐋 An explorer at heart, Gele's curiosity dives deep—from tech to sports, travel, and whales. Always ready to recharge, he has a knack for napping anywhere, anytime! 😴 We're thrilled to have you on board and can't wait for the energy you'll bring! Welcome to the #SUPATeam!

The first thing I did after returning from my SF trip was to attend #FuseCon 2024, where I had the opportunity to speak and share my insights and observations on AI, especially around generative AI. In my talk, I focused on the idea that many brilliant people are working on building better models, but not enough attention is being given to how we translate that intelligence into real, tangible value for users. We have these powerful models, but the way we design AI experiences is lagging behind in terms of bridging the gap and delivering the value these models are capable of.   I emphasized that the bottleneck isn’t the models themselves but the interface. Why are we still stuck with the same interface that’s been around since ChatGPT launched a few years ago. Here are a few design patterns I shared during the talk: Wayfinder -> Guiding users to make interacting with AI more intuitive Enriching input -> leveraging existing context to enhance input prompts Tuner -> Empowering users to refine and adjust the AI’s output This morning, one of the attendees sent me this new release from OpenAI: https://lnkd.in/gUp-3eNg I’m happy to see that many of the patterns I shared for creating better AI interfaces are part of OpenAI’s new Canvas feature. I defo have no involvement in its development, but it’s nice to know that more people are thinking about these challenges. FuseCon was an incredible experience, and huge thanks to the key people who made it happen, especially Johnny Woo Colin Pal Tze Chin Tang. It was great to see both familiar and new faces, though, unfortunately, I can’t tag anyone here. Baim Kamil Izwan Ismail Fathul Hayad Shaza Hakim Michael Ong The diversity of people in this room. We have product managers, designers, engineers, founders, dan lain-lain from startups to enterprises. This range of experience and perspective is exactly what we need to shape the future of AI. Super excited to see all the amazing things people will build from this.
