About us
The Economic Association of Namibia (EAN) was formed in 2012, by a group of like-minded economists, who believe that there is great scope for the development of economic discussion and thought in Namibia. The society provides an informal forum in which local economists, be they from the private sector, state owned enterprise or government, can interact and share ideas, all within a neutral environment, irrespective of background, or institutional connection. The objectives of the association are: - to further the study and teaching of economics and related subjects in Namibia; - to stimulate economic and related research in Namibia; - to further publication of economic and related research in Namibia; - to promote discussion on economic and related issues in Namibia; - to support the development of Namibia’s economists; and - to issue statements where deemed appropriate
