Namibia at COP29: Leading the Green Energy Transition | Namibia is proud to participate in the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (#COP29). As we gather with global leaders in Baku, Azerbaijan, our focus remains on enhancing climate ambition, scaling up financial support, and securing partnerships for a sustainable, low-carbon future. Through innovation and international collaboration, developed and industrialised countries should deliberately reduce their emissions and help developing countries build resilience to the impacts of climate change. Namibia’s vision for #COP29 centres on ambitious climate action to drive sustainable and inclusive outcomes. In alignment with the Paris Agreement, Namibia seeks to promote global cooperation to stabilise greenhouse gas levels, allowing ecosystems to adapt naturally to climate change while ensuring food security and sustainable development. By advancing renewable energy and green hydrogen initiatives, Namibia is committed to supporting a fair and resilient transition to a low-carbon future. Representing Namibia at #COP29, the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia, Bank Windhoek, Capricorn Foundation, Climate Fund Managers, Hanns Seidel Foundation, Ninety One, NamibRe, Triple Capital and the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) have partnered to advance the Namibian agenda. Join the Namibia House at #COP29 and let’s drive #ClimateAction together! #COP29 #ClimateAction #SustainableFuture #GreenEnergy #ClimateAction #SustainableFuture #ClimateFinance #InvestInNamibia #GreenHydrogen #CleanEnergy #ResilientGrowth

NAMIBIA PRODUCES BLUEBERRIES | We conclude the second leg of the #NIPDBMediaTour with an exciting day spent with the team at Namibia Berries, located in Divundu, Kavango East. Launched in 2021, Namibia Berries focuses on large-scale commercial blueberry farming and is well aligned to the broader efforts to diversify Namibia’s agricultural exports, while tapping in to the growing global demand for blueberries. Namibia Berries has the key advantage of supplying early-season blueberries to global markets, capitalising on the high prices available during this period. The company is currently wrapping up its very successful first harvest, with about 190 tonnes of premium Namibian blueberries already exported between June and October 2024, mainly to Germany, and low volumes sold locally in the Kavango East Region. With a current investment value of N$ 200 million to date, Namibia Berries has so far created jobs for the local community, with a 300 to 400 strong workforce during the harvesting season. Namibia Berries prides itself as an ESG focused company, and is committed to making a positive impact on the local community through several Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that include the following: 📌 Setting up waterholes at every 500m point 📌 Constructing 2 boreholes a year for the duration of their 99 year lease 📌 Installing 500 solar lights a year for the next 10 years 📌 Plugging MSMEs in to the project by creating business opportunities such as construction and beekeeping services 📌 Upgrading the Kindergarten 📌 Investing in knowledge transfer and skills development initiatives by training the local community. Some of the trainees secured employment in the company, while the rest are now empowered with skills that will enable them to start their own businesses or produce crops for their households Stay tuned for more updates on this impactful project as we unpack Namibia Berries' journey over the next couple of weeks. #InvestNamibia #InvestNam #Namibia #Agriculture #AfricanInvestments
