Vertical construction at 45 Park Place is coming to a close, as workers appear to have reached the top floors of the stepped, reinforced concrete superstructure. The 667-foot-tall residential skyscraper, which is located along the border of Tribeca and the Financial District, is being designed by SOMA Architects with Ismael Leyva Architects serving as the executive and residential architect. Sharif el-Gamal of Soho Properties is the developer of the 43-story property. Sales of the units, which feature interiors designed by Piero Lissoni, are being handled by Corcoran Sunshine.
New photos from the World Trade Center show the safety cocoon appearing to reach the last floors. The final levels will form a stepped crown that will be covered in the glass curtain wall that is making its way upward. The entire skin of the skyscraper is uniform in style, scale, and proportion.
Meanwhile, a community facility that is set to stand to the west of the skyscraper has yet to begin construction. It will be placed in the northern corner of the property toward the back, and feature a landscaped outdoor plaza that leads up to the structure. There has been no word on when construction will begin on this phase of the project, which will stand 71 feet tall and be addressed as 51 Park Place. Scott Newman of Cooper Robertson is listed as the architect for the upcoming 16,000-square-foot facility.
Construction of 45 Park Place will most likely be completed next year.
