Last week, Center for Advocacy, Transparency and Accountability Initiative (CATAI), with support from ActionAid Nigeria, commemorated the International Day of the Girl Child at Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Maiduguru, with an inspiring Inter-School Debate and activities focused on empowering young girls in Borno State. Schools from Maiduguri, Jere, and Konduga LGAs participated, each represented by a team of five female students. Debating the topic, ‘Is the empowerment of girls through education the most critical factor in shaping a sustainable future?’ this event provided a platform for girls to amplify their voices, build leadership skills, and advocate for a sustainable future. #EmpowerGirls #GirlsVisionForTheFuture #ClimateAction #InternationalDayOfTheGirlChild

The first day of the Agroecology Forum in West Africa was a massive success that demonstrated the transformative potential of eco-friendly agriculture! Indeed, Agroecology is more than just farming - it's a powerful movement addressing hunger, job creation, and environmental sustainability. By promoting eco-friendly agriculture, we're cultivating a stronger, more resilient West Africa for generations to come. #AgroecologyInWestAfrica #SPACWestAfrica

As part of our efforts to address #education gaps in northeast Nigeria, the Center for Advocacy, Transparency and Accountability Initiative (CATAI), with funding support from Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF), has identified and enrolled 1,200 out-of-school children across four communities in Gwoza LGA into six formal schools. To support their learning journey, #CATAI provided each child with essential scholastic materials, including school bags, exercise books, pencils, erasers, a pair of uniforms, and sandals. We’re committed to building a brighter, more inclusive future for every child. United Nations OCHA CASFOD Nigeria

On this International Day of the Girl, we celebrate the power and potential of girls around the world. This year’s theme, Girls’ Vision for the Future, highlights the urgent need for action and the hope carried by girls everywhere. Despite the challenges of climate change, conflict, and inequality, girls continue to show courage and resilience, standing up for their rights and envisioning a future where every girl is protected, respected, and empowered. Now more than ever, we must support and invest in solutions that amplify girls' voices and create opportunities for them to lead. When girls thrive, families, communities, and economies are strengthened, and our future is brighter. Let's commit to building a world where every girl can fulfill her potential. #DayOfTheGirl #GirlsVisionForTheFuture #EmpowerGirls #InvestInGirls

Last week, we had the honor of welcoming the Regional Education Coordinator for Jesuit Refugee Service West Africa and the International Grants Officer at our office as part of their strategy monitoring, evaluation, and learning visit to Dikwa and Mungono LGAs. This visit focused on the ECHO-funded project, "Providing Access to Safe Quality Education for Vulnerable Conflict-Affected Children in Borno State." which Center for Advocacy, Transparency and Accountability Initiative (CATAI) is implementing in collaboration with #JRS. Through engaging with stakeholders, implementing partners, and beneficiaries, they gained invaluable insights into the impact, challenges, and opportunities to enhance the project’s effectiveness. We look forward to continuing our collaboration to improve education and livelihood support for these communities. #EducationForAll #BornoState #CATAI #JRS #ECHO #ChildrensFuture #CommunityImpact
