About us
Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh (DRASA) Health Trust is a public health nonprofit organization working to keep people healthy and safe. From education and outreach programs in low-resource communities to training students and health professionals to developing new policies and guidelines, DRASA works with communities, the government, and local and international partners to improve people’s health across the country. Our goal is to build community health ambassadors and a strong, accessible and resilient health system that provides quality care and is prepared to handle emergencies and save lives. We achieve our mission by hosting and executing health events, conducting training courses, planning for and simulating health emergencies, supporting the government on the development and review of health policies and guidelines, engaging youth and community influencers and helping people practice healthy behaviors every day. Our core model, which is reflected across all that we do, is to build and equip people. We invest in building health ambassadors and champions who work alongside us as we strengthen Nigeria's health system together at every level.

Today, we are reflecting on one of our impact projects where we had the privilege of visiting two orphanages to educate children on the importance of proper handwashing. Our team led an interactive session where the children learned the steps, and timing for effective handwashing. As a team, we are always excited to expand our impact. By promoting these healthy habits, we are helping to build a healthier, more informed future. Every lesson and every tiny pair of hands were reminders of the difference we can make together. #HygieneEducation #Handhygiene

Achieving patient safety is not the responsibility of one group alone, it requires a unified collaboration between healthcare workers, policymakers, and all stakeholders in the health system. By working together to create robust policies, implement effective safety practices, and foster a culture of care, we can ensure that both patients and healthcare workers experience a safer, higher-quality, and more resilient healthcare system. #PatientSafety

Today begins a weeklong celebration of heroes who risk their lives to ensure the health of others. We celebrate #PublicHealthWorkforceWeek, honoring the unsung heroes who put their lives on the line to protect ours. These dedicated professionals are the backbone of our health systems, especially in times of crisis, yet many still face inadequate working conditions and overwhelming challenges. The future of healthcare depends on ensuring that our public health workforce is empowered and equipped to meet the ever-evolving demands of their profession. Let's recognize their resilience and dedication while advocating for better support, safer workplaces, and improved resources. Healthcare is everyone's business. #GetInvolved

Do you know that 1 in 10 people die from meningitis, and tragically, around half of all meningitis deaths are children under 5, according to the Meningitis Research Foundation? Meningitis is an infectious disease that attacks the protective lining of the brain and spinal cord. It spreads through infected droplets from the nose or throat, meaning that activities like kissing, coughing, sneezing, or even sharing utensils can put you at risk. The good news? It is preventable through vaccination. Read more on our website and stay informed: https://lnkd.in/gp65yfAq #MeningitisAwareness #WorldMeningitisDay

At the 79th United Nations General Assembly (#UNGA79) High-Level Meeting on Antimicrobial Resistance (#AMR) last month, world leaders committed to urgent action to curb the misuse of antimicrobials in health, agriculture, and the environment. This is a major step in the fight against AMR which is a growing threat projected to cause 10 million deaths annually by 2050. This united effort also calls for sustainable national financing and US$100 million in catalytic funding, to help achieve a target of at least 60% of countries having funded AMR national action plans by 2030. We look forward to seeing the outcomes of this global collaboration which will protect public health and preserve the effectiveness of life-saving antimicrobial drugs for generations to come.
