Flourish just completed Grade 6. Her mum creates natural hair and skincare products but doesn't have an online distribution channel. She struck a deal with her mum to get a 5% cut on all the sales she can facilitate. With that, she went on to build a website that displays her mum's products and takes orders directly through WhatsApp. We were so impressed by the simplicity and functionality of the idea that we decided to sponsor her ability to purchase a domain and host the website to go live. This is what EarlyFounders Labs is about. Beyond tech, it's about empowering kids early to solve real-world problems and create economic value. One thing is sure, children who pass through EarlyFounders will not be among those who will be submitting CVs upon graduation, instead, they'll be the ones employing people because their businesses will have outgrown them by then. Sitting back and watching what our students are building at EarlyFounders Labs, I feel very proud and fulfilled. Emmanuel is in 4th Grade and isn't yet 10 years old, but he is able to identify the problem of poor leadership, find its connection to economic hardship, identify what he considers can be a solution, build a tech-product to implement his solution and stand in front of a panel of judges, parents and fellow kid-preneurs and pitch his product. Getting not just one child but many children to be able to do all these at a very early age, I feel very proud of what we are doing at EarlyFounders and I deeply appreciate all those who make it possible. Emmanuel is just one of the dozens of kids who had a fantastic product to pitch at our Pitch and Exhibition day which just held last week. When I say we run a tech and startup school for kids, some people struggle to understand what we do. I hope this, and a few more stories I'll be telling will help.
