🚀 Day 1 of My UI/UX Tech Journey with 3MTT Nigeria & Darey.IO 🚀 Last week 08/03/2025, I took my first step into the exciting world of UI/UX design, and it was an eye-opening experience! Here's a quick summary of what I learned: What is UI/UX? UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) are the heart of any digital product. While UI focuses on the visual elements like buttons, colors, and typography, UX is all about how the user feels interacting with a product. The goal? To create designs that are not only beautiful but also user-friendly and intuitive. 🌟 The Role of a UI/UX Designer As a UI/UX designer, my role is to bridge the gap between users and technology. I create experiences that are both functional and enjoyable. It's all about solving problems creatively while keeping the user’s needs at the forefront. Essential Skills for a UI/UX Designer From wireframing and prototyping to understanding human psychology, I learned that a successful UI/UX designer needs a mix of technical, creative, and communication skills. 🛠️💡 What Are Pain Points? Pain points are the challenges users face when interacting with a product. Identifying these helps in designing solutions that provide a smoother, more enjoyable user experience. Solving User Problems Today, I explored the approach to solving user problems through research, testing, and iteration. It's a continuous process of refining ideas to ensure the end product is aligned with user needs. This journey has just begun, and I'm excited to learn more and dive deeper into the world of UI/UX design. 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐈 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐰...𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲! 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞!! Childhood vs. Young Adulthood Growing up, I dreamed of becoming a doctor like my father—God rest his soul. But as life unfolded, my ambitions took a different turn. High school disrupted my initial vision, drawing me towards the arts, and before I knew it, I was on the path to becoming a lawyer. At the time, my motivation was simple—I was drawn to the prestige and influence the legal profession commanded. Just after high school, I enrolled & obtained a certificate in "Desktop publishing" this course was a must for anyone who wanted to be digitally literate. I didn’t just take the course—I excelled and later secured a partial scholarship for CompTIA A+ through AfriHUB ICT Institute. Based on my performance, I was offered another partial scholarship to continue with CCNA, but I couldn't afford it. Did it hurt? Absolutely. That moment could have been a turning point in my career, but without the right mentorship and support system, I had to pivot. I even researched institutions that offered Technology Law, wondering if that was my path. Adulthood Adulthood came with its fair share of brouhaha—a lot of it. But here I am today, a lawyer. Do I have regrets? Not at all. But do I feel like there’s still something missing? Yes. But then again, Tech found it way back to me. The big question was: 👉 How do I merge my legal background with my passion for tech? 👉 Where do I fit in? Present Day Determined to figure this out, I recently enrolled in a tech course with 3MTT Nigeria, joined various tech communities, and have been intentionally attending tech conferences and webinars. Balancing work with self-discovery has been quite the journey. My legal career has been nothing short of tedious yet fulfilling. Along the way, I’ve also developed a strong interest in workplace wellness and recruitment, which I’ll be sharing more insights in the coming days. Permit me to Re-Introduce Myself ✨ I am Damilola Ijor, a legal practitioner with three years experience in dispute resolution, property transactions, business incorporation, and regulatory compliance. ✨ I have a growing passion for technology and I'm actively exploring same. ✨ I am highly proactive, value collaboration and teamwork, and actively engage in discussions around workplace wellness and recruitment. ✨ I strongly believe in continuous learning to bridge skill gaps and leverage technology to work smarter. ✨ I am a fast learner, open to constructive criticism, and always seeking growth.
