✨ WE’RE HIRING! ✨ FEM is advertising two new positions: Head of Operations and Operations Manager, both of which can be found on our website. These positions are an opportunity to have a significant impact on improving maternal health! 📻 In 2023, we reached 27 million people across Nigeria with short and long campaigns about family planning. Our programmes are estimated to be cost-effective (22x-60x as effective as cash transfers) at saving and improving lives. This year, we are scaling to two new countries and one new cause area. 🌍 Our team consists of people who are intentional, driven, and deeply care for the work we do. We take our values seriously, always setting the interest of our listeners first. The contribution of a strong candidate will make a big difference for our growth. We’re accepting applications on a rolling basis. ttps://lnkd.in/dYq3G_B9

Did you know radio changed the world? Radio was the world's first mass media. It has saved countless lives with alerts in times of disaster, from tsunamis to industrial explosions. Radio is how the world learned Britain was at war with Germany in 1939, and historians think no one would've survived the sinking of the Titanic without radio communication. At Family Empowerment Media, we use radio to spread life-saving health information. We reach rural households living on less than 5 USD per day, who might not hear this information any other way. Evidence suggests just one three-month campaign in northern Nigeria (our pilot) may have enabled as many as 250,000 women and men who want to plan their families, to take up effective contraception, reducing maternal mortality. With the United Nations, we're celebrating 13 February as World Radio Day, grateful for this world-changing technology that's still saving lives.

"Highly effective charities are ...rare for an easily surmountable reason: a relatively small push can enable people who’ve never started a charity before to start one and to succeed." FEM is pleased to be mentioned as an "illustrious graduate" of CE. 💫

Access to family planning saves and improves children's lives. Short intervals between births increase risks and are associated with increased rates of low birth weight and under-5 mortality. On World Children's Day, consider supporting FEM. https://lnkd.in/gjRDrgyM
