Girls Education Mission International is proud to have mentored its founding member, Itswell Ya'u who is now the organization's Program Manager and a dedicated mentor to other girls. From the early days of the organization, Itswell demonstrated exceptional leadership potential, and through consistent support, empowerment, and mentorship from the organization, she has blossomed into a role model and leader. Her journey is a powerful example of how the nurturing environment provided by #Girls_Education_Mission_International enables young girls to evolve into confident leaders who then go on to inspire others. Today, as Program Manager, Itswell plays a crucial role in mentoring the next generation of girls, guiding them with the same passion and commitment she once received. This beautiful cycle of empowerment continues to impact lives and drive the mission of the organization forward. #IamPossible https:https://lnkd.in/djxW-sMz

#InternationalLiteracyDay2024 Today, the International Literacy Day, Girls Education Mission International shines a spotlight on the power of girls' literacy. When girls are educated, entire communities thrive. Literacy equips them with the tools to break the cycle of poverty, challenge inequality, and unlock their full potential.Yet, millions of girls are still denied the chance to learn due to poverty, discrimination, and cultural barriers. On this day, let’s commit to removing these obstacles and ensuring that every girl has the opportunity to gain an education, read, write, and grow into a leader of tomorrow. By investing in girls' literacy, we invest in a more just, equal, and prosperous world for all. Let’s work together to make this a reality! Visit https://lnkd.in/djxW-sMz to take action.

The program had in attendance Director of Special Programs Hajiya Zainab Zakari from Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board and 3 other Staff of the PSUBEB. The Mentorship sessions which are being facilitated by one of the GEM founding girls Mrs. Itswell Ya'u who is currently the Program Manager of GEM is focused on equipping girls with various Lifeskills, Leadership and Entrepreneurship skills that will enable the girls to thrive in school and beyond. The girls shared their life changing experiences after the last session and also showcased the marketable skills learned and various small business they are able to venture into. The girls are being Mentored to serve as role models to other girls as they become peer mentors and advocates for Girls Education in their various schools and communities. The girls who completed Junior Secondary School Exams with support of GEM are now awaiting their results to be admitted into Senior Secondary School.
