We are so proud to share in your vission for Africa as an African based organization.
Biomedical Scientist- Adeleke University; Principal Investigator/Founder of Helix Biogen Institute, Vaccine/Diagnostic Kits Developer; Molecular Biologist; Bioinformatician; Biotech Start-up Consultant; Sciencepreneurer
I am so passionate about #Africa and my country #Nigeria when it comes to research and development in biomedical sciences. There have been various suggestions by the international communities on technology transfer , but my view is so different as we are adopting the technologies we should keep working on the localization of these technologies. ''Instead of continuing to accept transfers of technology coming from the global North, Oladipo believes, African nations should leverage their abundance of raw materials to build local manufacturing plants for sustainable products''. “If we don’t start now, we can never start,” he told SciDev.Net. Experience is the catalyst for growth. As we navigate life's journey, we encounter triumphs and setbacks, each teaching us valuable lessons. With every experience, we: - Gain new perspectives - Develop resilience - Refine our skills - Strengthen our character - Clarify our purpose Embracing challenges and learning from failures, we evolve into stronger, wiser versions of ourselves. Experience shapes us, molds us, and propels us forward. Remember, growth is a lifelong process. Every experience, no matter how big or small, contributes to our transformation. Reconnecting with a Former Staff Member: A Heart-warming Encounter in University of Birmingham University I am thrilled to share an inspiring and heartwarming encounter I recently had at the University of Birmingham. While on a visit to Dr Helen Onyeaka, FIFST, FHEA, I crossed paths with Sobanjo Lucas who came to visit me , a former NYSC corps member who served under my supervision at Helix Biogen Institute. This serendipitous meeting with Sobanjo Lucas, now a distinguished postgraduate student at The Manchester Metropolitan University, was a poignant reminder of the enduring impact of mentorship and the importance of nurturing young scientific talents. During his NYSC service, Sobanjo Lucas displayed remarkable dedication and an insatiable curiosity towards biomedical research. His passion for science was evident in the countless hours he spent in the lab, often going above and beyond to understand the intricacies of biomedical sciences.. It was clear to me that he had immense potential, and I endeavoured to provide him with the guidance and resources needed to flourish in his career. This reunion also reinforced my belief in the importance of fostering international collaborations and networks. reconnecting with Sobanjo Lucas was a powerful reminder of the impact we can have on the lives and careers of the young scientists we mentor. It is a call to action for all of us to continue supporting and nurturing the next generation of researchers, as they are the key to unlocking new scientific discoveries and innovations. I am excited about the future possibilities that our renewed connection holds and look forward to the impactful work we will undoubtedly accomplish together. #Mentorship #ScientificCommunity #InfectiousDiseases #GlobalHealth #Collaboration #Research #NYSC #HelixBiogenInstitute #ManchesterMetropolitanUniversity #BirminghamUniversity #Inspiration #FutureScientists #Networking #PublicHealth #Innovation
