Dear IP Enthusiasts, We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each chapter for their efforts so far. We see you, and we appreciate you. We also apologize for the delay in disseminating this information. The "IP CHAPTER OF THE MONTH" for July is the Intellectual Property Club, UNN Property Club, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (IPC UNN). IPC UNN made their debut as chapter of the month in June and demonstrated consistency, dedication, and zeal in July as well. The chapter has been publishing several relevant and educational materials monthly, and their ability to consistently deliver is truly admirable. In July, they released publications including the 'Everything IP' series on Industrial Design, Trade Secrets, and Geographical Indications. They also continued their "This Week in IP" initiative, highlighting recent happenings in the world of Intellectual Property. We noted that the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed Google's victory in a copyright infringement case, and China was declared the world leader in Generative AI Patents by the World Intellectual Property Organization. Additionally, IPC UNN released publications on whether memes can be protected by IP laws and analyzed two IP cases: Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc. v. Goldsmith and Lifestyle Equities CV v. Amazon UK Services Ltd. We commend IPC UNN for their research and efforts and proudly announce them as the second-time winners of the Chapter of the Month initiative. Special recognition also goes to Intellectual Property Law Club, AAUA and Intellectual Property Law Club, Ambrose Alli University. for conducting intellectually stimulating webinars in July. Please note that our decision was based solely on the activities of each club for the month of July. The purpose of this recognition is to serve as an incentive to other chapters and individuals, reminding ourselves of the importance of spreading awareness about Intellectual Property. Once again, we apologize for the delay in sending this out and congratulate Intellectual Property Club, UNN on their achievement!
