We are super excited to share that we will be moving into our newly acquired property by December! 🎉 We’ve spent the last few weeks renovating the existing building on the property to create a safe and supportive learning environment for our kids. Our goal is to OCCUPY and this existing building will help us accommodate 120 out-of-school kids in the community. We have completed the roofing phase, and this week, we are focusing on the plumbing and electrical work. After which, painting will begin. In a matter of time, we’ll be fully free from paying rent and will channel that expense to getting more kids into school 💃🏽 This means so much to us and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated so far. However, we still need a lot more support. With your donation, our kids will be able to move into a conducive learning environment by December. You can donate via this link - bit.ly/tmaschool or directly to our naira account below: Account Number: 1023986519 Bank Name: United Bank for Africa (UBA) Account Name: Talent Mine Foundation Every amount counts and every support goes a long way. Please share this post🙏🏾 Thank you for your support #talentmineacademy #freeschool

Random content from our Nursery Class. What a fun way to teach parts of the body and active listening! How did the boys win the 2nd round completely though? 😅😅😅 #talentmineacademy #talentminekids #freeschool #freeschoolinnigeria

One of the best ways to leave a mark is to build a legacy for children in low-income communities. With our Classroom Legacy Project, you can build a classroom that will serve thousands of out-of-school children in the Ota community of Ogun State Nigeria. The classroom will be named after you, your friends, your organization, or in honour of a loved one whose memory you hold dear to your heart. You can sign up via this link - bit.ly/tmaclassroomsetup and we’ll be in touch. The best time to build a legacy is NOW. Oh, how we love the sound of a new school year! Our kids showed up in school today happy and excited to resume for the new school year. We have also welcomed some new kids this year and we are excited that their journey of growth and transformation is starting today. We’ve spent the last 2 weeks training our team and teachers and today, we are happy to finally welcome our kids back to school. Some got chubbier, some returned on low cuts, and some returned slimmer. Don’t worry, our daily school feeding program is about to fix that. With N35,000, you can feed a child daily for the 70 days of the school year: Account Number: 1023986519 Bank Name: United Bank for Africa Account Name: Talent Mine Foundation A hungry child cannot learn, so your support goes a long long way. Happy resumption to us! It’s about to be a great school year! #talentminekids #talentmineacademy #backtoschool #freeschool #freeschoolinnigeria

Education has the power to truly transform lives, and at Talent Mine Academy, we are using education as a tool for personal and community transformation. Our school model is designed to help our students make better life choices, rise out of poverty, and solve the pressing problems in their communities. Our students directly apply what they learn in the classroom to solve problems through their termly community change-making projects. What this means is that when you send a child to school, you are not only transforming the life of that child but also contributing to the development of low-income communities and Nigeria at large. We currently have 8 children on our waitlist who are completely out of school because their parents cannot afford the <$1 public school fees. We want to enrol this child into school this September and give them the opportunity to access a better life. But we need your help to do this. Via this link - bit.ly/tmasponsorship, you can sign up to send a child to school today. Swipe to see what your support covers. Please share. Thank you. #talentmineacademy #freeschool #freeschoolinnigeria #education

Do you know that all the children in this classroom were once out of school? For most of them, even though public schools are free, their parents couldn’t afford to buy their school books, uniforms, and stationery even though this costs less than $1. At Talent Mine, we are giving the gift of education to out-of-school children in low-income communities who cannot afford this <$1 public school fee. Our goal is to empower these children with the knowledge, skills, mindset, and opportunities they need to make better life choices, rise out of poverty, and solve the pressing problems in their communities. Today, we want to invite you to send a child to school. As we prepare to resume on Monday, the 16th, we have 8 children on our waitlist who are looking forward to resuming with us. However, we need people who are open to sponsoring their education. As a sponsor, you get to give a child the gift of education and the opportunity to have a brighter future. To learn more about this and to sign up, kindly click this link - bit.ly/tmasponsorship. Thank you. #talentmineacademy #freeschool #freeschoolinnigeria #talentminekids

Donald’s story makes me so teary-eyed. The truth is that Donald was not always like this. When we started working with him 5 years ago, he couldn’t read or say his name. Today, Donald is one of our student leaders and over the years, he has built a strong academic and leadership record. Watching him grow is so fulfilling and I am super grateful to his donor for giving Donald the gift of education. We still have 8 kids on our waitlist - waiting to be paired with donors who can sponsor their education. For context, these 8 kids are completely out of school (they can’t even afford the <$1 public school fees) and most of them live on <$20 monthly family income. Let’s help them get to enrolled in school this September. Sign up here - bit.ly/tmasponsorship.
Donald! So smart, talented, and extraordinary. Excellent in books and excellent in craft. Always happy to help and humble to lead. See our Donald! In 2 months of learning how to make beads, he made such a beautiful hand purse. So beautiful that our demo day guests could not stop gushing over it. Someone said, “You mean a boy did this?!” We said, “Yes! Donald did this!” In a bead-making class where most are girls, Donald has stood out. And today, we want to celebrate Donald and thank all our donors for making education possible for our kids. School resumes next week and we have kids on our waitlist eagerly waiting to be paired with a donor. If you’d like to send a child to school, kindly sign up via this link - bit.ly/tmasponsorship. Sending a child to school is an investment worth making —an investment in raising the next generation and building a brighter Nigeria and Africa. #talentmineacademy #freeschoolinnigeria #freeschool #talentminekids

This is education! Continue building, brick by brick, we shall get there.
Can we talk about what a fun + educative summer we had? At Talent Mine, our goal is to use education to help our kids make better life choices, rise out of poverty, and transform their communities. As our kids get academic rigor in school, they also get intensive entrepreneurship training so that they can break the cycle of poverty in their community. During the summer, our kids learned several skills: Bead making Arts & Crafts Coding Robotics Leadership & Life Skills We will continue working with them all through the coming academic session, setting them on the journey to rising out of poverty. #talentmineacademy #freeschool #freeschoolinnigeria
