Today’s hangout was a success as tens of teens and young adults showed up for the fun-filled and informative event. There was games, youth development targeted talks, deliberation sessions and games. The session a very practical one. Thank you Beulah Ladanu for redirecting our flow of thoughts through the topic “STIRRING GOD’S GIVEN POTENTIALS THROUGH BOOK-READING”. We just concluded the 12th week of the cohort and we believe that by that our delegate have been rightly pumped for change making in their every day life. Beulah Ladanu is an education enthusiast with 3+ years of experience in early learning and development. She is fully committed to creating innovative processes that momentarily enable every learner to reach their full potential. As a bright and open-minded education development officer, she is well-rounded with exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Being a Supervisor of Schools with New Globe Educational Services currently responsible for the professional development of over 6,000 schools staff in Kwara State, Nigeria. Moreover, she is the Founder and Lead Manager at the Phronesis Pedagody - a self funded bookstore, which also partner with a youth-led organization to organize periodic book reading exercise for young individuals, in a bid to popularize their views about global learning irrespective of being raised in third world countries. She holds a BSc in Zoology, before delving into the field of education through a Post Graduate Certificate in Education - coupled with other Professional Certificates in Leadership and Management. The session was super real and practicable. We just concluded the eleventh week of the cohort - with 1 more sessions to come, and we believe that the change we envisioned by launching this project has truly begun with the young leaders. The leadership of CHERUBIM & SERAPHIM COLLEGE, Sabo-Oke Ilorin called us for youth development engagement - and we answered without hesitation! Special thanks to the leadership of the school for providing us with the opportunity to make informative investments into the lives of the futures leaders they are currently overseeing. We were able to address one the major concerns that young people have for the future of Nigeria, and which has mostly triggered the JAPA syndrome. We also assured the students that the change we all desire for Nigeria would not begin with the government, public office holders, media, but with each of us who is named with the highest honor of being called a NIGERIAN. They also learnt how the momentarily decisions of everyone of us in the country has eventually culminate into the the realities staring in our faces today. We rounded off by informing them that the pattern of leadership of a people is the direct representation of what the people’s culture is. We ended the engagement with a prayer that “may our future leaders begin to mind what would matter when it become their turn to lead this country”. Today’s outreach was was a wonderful experience and we are proud to be working alongside countless youthled organizations striving to see the NEW NIGERIA of our dream evolve through re-orientation processes.
