Our founder, Rob, has launched an inspiring coaching program that we call "Lead To Succeed" through our organisation aimed at nurturing and empowering young advocates to thrive in their initiatives. Rob shared his motivation for this transformative project: "Over the years, we learned that many young people are highly motivated to contribute to a sustainable society through their own initiatives. Some are thriving, while others face difficulties in areas such as mental wellbeing, financial security, and skillset development. Based on our research and experience, we found that coaching is one of the most needed forms of support for these young advocates. Although there are many development opportunities available, few are tailored to the specific challenges youth face in developing and implementing their initiatives. 💡 Wear It Fair: A training course by Advocates Who Thrive, aimed at teaching how to combat the environmental and social issues of the fashion industry. #WearItFair is an 8-day training dedicated to empowering young advocates on ethical fashion. It is the second year in a row that we are raising awareness of the environmental and social problems within the fashion industry and how to effectively advocate for a more ethical fashion industry by helping developing the necessary skills and competences to achieve that. 💡     Through this intensive course, advocates learn about the fashion industry, participate in workshops and debates, engage in hands-on activities and are given reflection time to explore useful competencies in campaigning, upcycling, public speaking, community engagement that will help them achieve their goals in #sustainable #fashion. Among other activities, Wear It Fair holds upcycling classes as well as a project for the development of a campaign in sustainable fashion. ♻ Fashion is valuable, but so is our planet and the people who live in it. Wear It Fair is about making all these co-existing in a sustainable way. Wear It Fair provides the tools and knowledge to interested advocates so they are more prepared to engage in projects of their own. 🌏 ** 🌱 At AWT, feedback is very important. After every project we go through all the comments from our participants and talk over them. Only that way we are able to grow and #thrive all together.    This time it was the turn of the participants in Wear It Fair 2024 to speak out. 🌿 It is estimated that over eight million tonnes of plastic are dumped into the world's oceans each year by humans. Overall, there are more than five trillion pieces of plastic currently in our oceans. 💚 Yet, life as we know it depends heavily on healthy oceans. The oceans generate over 50% of Earth's oxygen. They also absorb about 30% of carbon dioxide produced by humans, helping to mitigate the impacts of global warming. By 2030, as many as 40 million people will be employed in ocean-based industries. 🌿  For a sustainable world, everyone must play a part in directly protecting the oceans.
